"!!!!SCAM WARNING!!!!! Less than 6 hours before check in, I got an email from Vacasa that my reservation was not longer available. I had 12 friends/family members already on their way from out of town and needed a place for them to stay. We were relocated from the luxury house that I originally booked due to “Maintenance Issue: Pests” into a house they said was also a luxury home. Based on the pictures I could tell that it was no where near the luxury status of my original booking and was also significantly smaller, but somehow it still cost the same amount and I was unable to get any money reimbursed. We arrived to the new house, upon walking in I stepped directly into water, turned on the lights to find the entire bottom floor was flooded. The bedding on several beds had nasty stains on them, the house smelled moldy, there were exposed frayed wires upstairs, and holes in the patio and walls. I called Vacasa in a panic just to have them treat me like I was the problem and be extremely rude to me. They tried relocating us a 3rd time and that is when I called Air bnb support directly. It was a nightmare of an experience and I would NOT recommend that anyone book through Vacasa. 0/5 Stars."
"I use Vacasa as my vacation rental manager. They have good tools and if you reach to the right people, they provide timely responses to needs. However, I am disappointed at what I perceive as a disregard to their clients finances. They claim to have higher occupancy than competitors. They accomplished this by reducing the nightly rates dramatically to show higher occupancy, but at the detriment of the revenue and increase of expenses for the home owners. So now my house is constantly booked, the expenses and wear and tear are higher but I am making 60%-70% of what I made last year. So in real terms, I am receiving probably less than 50%. Vacasa collects other fees from guests, such as booking and cleaning fees, so higher occupancy represents more money to them. I had to figure this out on my own as nobody informed me of these changes. I am very disappointed."
"Dear Vrbo and Vacasa Team I am writing to express my utmost disappointment following a recent experience with a property booked through your platforms. I am usually a great admirer of your services, and this particular incident has left me both disillusioned and dissatisfied. My family and I had booked a stay at a property in Galveston, expecting a pleasant, relaxing vacation. Instead, what we were greeted with was a location that fell alarmingly short of the expectations set by the descriptions and images on your sites. Upon arrival, we noticed that the surroundings were not aesthetically pleasing - a detail which was artfully omitted from the online presentation of the property. The inside of the house was even more appalling, the most prominent issue being a horrendous smell that pervaded the entire property. This was not just an unwelcome surprise; it was an affront to our senses. Moreover, the living space bore little to no resemblance to the images advertised on your websites. A stark example of this discrepancy was the absence of the washer and dryer set which was clearly shown in the photos and listed in the amenities. It was disheartening to discover the empty space where they were supposed to be, a testament to the misleading portrayal of the property. On entering the house, we noticed that the only light on was in the attic. The attic was not adequately sealed, which allowed the light to seep through the cracks and was the only source of illumination in the otherwise dark house. Upon investigating, I was met with a shocking sight – three dead rodents stuck to a trap that had not been removed. This sight was not just disgusting, but posed a serious health hazard, highlighting a severe lack of maintenance and concern for guest safety. Regrettably, the horrors did not end there. While packing up to leave due to these intolerable conditions, we had a repulsive encounter with a large roach that crawled into a shoe from the back bedroom. This was the final straw, causing us to abandon our plans and leave the property on the very same night. My family and I are deeply upset by this experience. This level of misrepresentation and negligence is unacceptable from reputed platforms like Vrbo and Vacasa. I urge you to investigate this matter and take necessary actions to prevent future customers from undergoing a similar ordeal."
"Vacasa is the worst vacation home rental company I have ever used. I made a reservation - thru Airbnb almost 2 weeks in advance for my son's baptism . I reserved a 6 person home-2 nights - $1040.07. Almost as soon as I made the reservation, my sister and 88 year old father-in-law called and told me they were coming along so I needed to get a bigger home. Less than 24 hours after making the reservation I try canceling the reservation and they tell me that my refund would only be $404.27! I called Airbnb and they tell me Vacasa charges a NONREFUNDABLE, $635.80 accommodation fee! This was outrageous. I am a frequent Airbnb customer for over a decade and have had to cancel before reservations, even internationally many times and have NEVER not gotten a full refund. Airbnb did tell me that if Vacasa approved a full refund, they would do give me one. I immediately try contacting Vacasa and that's when my nightmare began. All of the operators at Vacasa were totally unreasonable. They only said that it was their policy and they would not give us any of that fee. Since I needed a bigger home, I was already looking for bigger accommodations and even found a few owned by Vacasa. I told them that I didn't necessarily need the refund if they could just use the money I already paid to rent out one of their own, bigger MORE EXPENSIVE homes. Nothing. They would not budge. They only kept repeating- "it's our policy." Almost $700 to make a reservation. All I ever got was the run around. services agents and "manager" said they would call me back and never did. I sent texts & emails to show them that I tried to cancel within 24 hours of my reservation because one of the supervisor or manager trying to tell me i was lie. Obviously, they care more about milking customers out of outrageous fees than the apparently old fashioned "the customer is always right" adage. The ordeal only worsened when we finally arrived at the booked location after 6 hours driving. They given only a keypad code. We entered the property and then left for dinner. Unknowingly, we locked the bottom lock and upon returning to the property close to 11:00 pm, we were locked out. We had my 88-year-old father-in-law and 8-year-old nephew there and were exhausted. I immediately contacted your support team, hoping for a prompt resolution to my predicament. Alas, instead of receiving the assistance we desperately needed, we were greeted with prolonged wait times, unhelpful agents, and a complete lack of urgency in addressing our concerns. It was evident that your support staff lacked the necessary training and knowledge to handle even the simplest of issues. The dismissive attitude and lack of empathy displayed during our interactions only served to exacerbate my frustration and disappointment To add insult to injury, when I finally managed to escalate my case to a supervisor, I was met with further incompetence and unprofessionalism. The supervisor displayed a complete disregard for my concerns, not even offering half-hearted apologies and empty promises, but instead arguing with me and my husband about every point I was trying to make. I will NEVER forget how rude and inflexible this s and will never rent from them either. Also, I will tell everyone I know to avoid using them when they are looking to rent accommodations. Also, I am still waiting for a refund for the pet fee as I ended up finding someone to watch my dogs. I sent the request to cancel my dogs, and supposedly they accepted the request, but up until this point, I have not received the pet fee refund. Ana Moscoso"
