Reviews of WOWFIX Window and Door Repair
"We have spent thousands of dollars with this company on window repairs for our home. Eugene is a lovely and hardworking man who did good work. But they have owed us over $400 for months now and, despite telling us they WANT to send the money, they won't return it because of "situations happening in the world". I have all the sympathy for people stuck in wartime situations, but that is not a legal basis to keep money you've already said in writing would be returned for work not done. You have no idea what's happening in our lives and how much we might need that money back. I am sorry about what's happening in Ukraine but you cannot keep over $400+ dollars of our money because of that (this is what was texted to my husband about why they haven't sent us the check in months.) Please return our money like was promised. I'm disheartened that a previously good working relationship has turned to this."
"Personable, knowledgeable, and commendable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. We had a crack and a number of issues for windows but overall weren't provided blanket statements of, "Replace them all." Eugene, the technician, broke down his knowledge about windows and rather than replacing everything he informed us about our new home very well. We saved tens of thousands of needless replacements and instead had been repaired on windows rather than being sold windows. They take their time to do it right but also make sure they don't need to come back because it was done right the first time. Kate, the office manager, was also very personable and patient. We had to work around our schedule and WowFix was very flexible. My agent referred them and I wouldn't go anywhere else. They are a small business and can tell you about companies, manufacturers, and more with the window industry. Best of all, for our place, we had a great price which included even a sliding door. All I can say is Wow, what a great business. I will recommend them to everyone now and I'm telling you, you'll save money because not every place needs new windows. Excellent service with honesty, integrity, and efficiency. Thank you WowFix!"
"We used Wowfix services more than year ago to repair the wooden window. It still looks like a new one. Last week we decided to fix the foggy windows. We called Wowfix company, they arrived after 2 days on time and removed all the fogginess. Perfection! Great window repair company."
"I am very pleased with repair that Wowfix company done on my wooden windows. They were rot at the bottom and I thought we need to replace the them. Hopefully, the Wowfix technician adviced the repair options and it was right way. The result on the photo. Look like brand new"
"Had a 2 double hung windows rebuilt due to water damage. Just the lower 2 sashes .It was a Hurd aluminum clad exterior with wood exposed interior. Was told they would be copied exactly from the old window. Great. Ready in 4 hours. Hard to believe. Got the window back. Looked just OK. Charged me $800.00 for the work. $400.00 per sash. Master carpenter rates for a custom rebuild. Not the level of work I expected. Gaps in the corners. They used a soft pine lumber with numerous joints. High resin content won't take a stain. Used a wood conditioner prior to staining ,that didn't help.. Definitely not clear pine. Now the weird part. They put a ridge in the mating surfaces of the wood that wasn't in the original window. Couldn't get them closed. 2 hours of painstaking work with a cabinet maker's chisel to remove the ridges to make the window fit. Then, the groove for the weatherstripping wasn't cut deep enough to allow the window to seal. Had to cut the groove deeper with a pull saw and reinstall that. GRRRRR!. Should've just took them back, but had 2 open holes in my house and it's a 50 mile ride back and forth. Let the buyer beware. If you have old single pane wood windows that you're going to paint, it might be okay. I would never again pay these fees for the level of work performed. I never balk at paying craftsman's wages when I need custom work. This ain't it. 2 stars for getting them done in 4 hours. Next time, I'll just buy replacement windows and put them in myself. Lesson learned. Update 06/19/2021 Received a reply from WOW. Basically telling me that they would have come to the house to rectify the problem of the windows not closing. Fair enough. But when you assure me they will " fit perfectly ", there should be no need for that. The ridge milled into the mating surface of the replacement they made wasn't on the original. As far as them suggesting that I check the price of new replacement windows to see how reasonable WOW prices are, I did. 2 brand new windows from Hurd , exact replacements, aluminum clad exterior, low e glass, with replacement balancers were $671.00 . 129.00 less. Wish they would've suggested that to me earlier. I'll take their advice in the future."
