"it's a nice spot. I brought a small silver necklace in to be repaired, had it for years and broke a link in the chain. I was told I would hear back in a week or so for a quote to fix it. a few days later i was told it was ready for pickup for $15. I wasn't contacted about a quote but it was cheap so i didn't mind. upon picking up the chain, it appears there are now 3 links that are all welded/soldered together. this makes that part of the chain stiff and is visually unappealing I would have liked for them to call me and ask if i wanted a cheap fix rather than going ahead with it."

"On 12/11/2023 I had 2 necklaces that needed repair that I had given to my girlfriend. Both of them were going to need small clasps in order to be fixed. These meant a lot to me and her. I am a Wheaton resident and have always given my business to Costello jewelers in downtown Glen Ellyn. I went over to see what they could do for me. I showed Sharon the necklaces and we put them on the felt and she took them back to the jeweler and came back out and said one would be 60 and the other 80. My jaw dropped at that cost. I then asked her if he could sell me the clasps and she said let me go see. She came back and told me he was going on break and to come back in an hour. I felt like Costello jeweler was trying to soak me with those prices or they just did not want to help me. I left and walked across the street to Larc Jewlery and was greeted immediately and told them what I needed. The women who helped me immediately took the necklaces back and replaced the clasps and took out three knots from the chains and said that the total would be 12 dollars. I was extremely happy at the price but even more so at the service and how fast she was able to take care of me and fix them. Larc jewelry is now my go to. I will never step into Costello in downtown Glen Ellyn again Thank you Larc for not taking advantage of me and being so kind and helpful."

Besides all this, they have BEAUTIFUL and very unique items- they are upfront and very fair in pricing and just operate so much differently than some other jewelry stores in the area. This was my first experience with them- we bought both a casual diamond necklace and cluster diamond earrings- and they have instantly become our family jeweler from now on."
