"I have been going to John Bensfield for my tax preparation and financial investments for over 40 years. He and his staff are very knowledgeable about the tax laws and changes that occur every year. "I had been going to Bloom Associates for 7 years for my annual tax return. My return is very straightforward, and I could have done it on my own or with TurboTax. However, I thought that having a CPA added a bit of security that made up for the (surprisingly large) fee. This year, however, there was a problem with my Illinois state return that was entirely the fault of Bloom. This resulted in over a two thousand dollar reduction in my return! When I called them about this, they admitted their error... but said they were too busy with preparing other returns to meet with me!
