Petland Bolingbrook

"So I had my 8 fish for several years now and got a Zebra Pleco two weeks ago. Well, Zebra Pleco died Friday night 3/1/24 and now 5 of my 8 other fish have died. I went to Petland in Bolingbrook Petland/Aquarium Adventure where I bought the Pleco and ask for a new fish or money back, they acted like I was crazy for even considering, very rude and said, no way, read your receipt, see the sign. Said they will refund if you provide a water sample (which I’m sure they would have told me it was bad regardless) and the dead fish within 48hrs. Then laughed at us when we were mad while leaving. I went back and said, are you kidding, you’re laughing at us. I understand rules and regulations but not every bad fish will die within 48hr. I think they need to think about how they treat their customers and look at some circumstances before you just slap a rule at you. I’m very upset to lose my fish, I care a lot about them but obviously they don’t. You might want to think twice before buying your fish there…or check their water first."

"I was in there earlier today and I was disturbed by what I saw. First, birds that overcrowded, stressed, and plucking. But when I got to the Reptiles, this staff member was encouraging that a woman buy her bearded dragon a "Friend" and I casually said that Bearded Dragons were solitary creatures. They fight and sometimes cannibalize. She told me "Similarly sized ones don't do that, I've had them my entire life." But this information is factually untrue. Do a google search. Check Reptifiles. Read just about anything about Bearded Dragons. I've got years of reptile experience. This woman was willing to let the animals suffer to upsell."

"I have 2 male rats that I purchased from this Petland in the fall of 2022. Neither one has had any health issues, not even an upper respiratory infection, which is very common in rats. I bought them as small babies, and they are both very large boys . One is a Dumbo , and the other is a fancy rat. Every time I visit the store, I am really impressed with how much interaction the staff actually has with the animals there and how clean all the habitats are kept."

"Petland is one of our favorite places to visit. For saltwater fishes. Get water changes. And visiting the other animals. I love that I’m able to pet the bunnies and hamsters. The staff is always super willing to help out without being bothered. Always a great experience going to this store"
