"This review is based on my experience with my daughter who was 4 years old. I chose this gym after reading "raving" reviews about the gymnasts and olympic-style training. The fact it was owned and operated by former gymnasts was also pretty cool! I thought moving my daughter at a young age here would benefit her. My first day was in summer 2023 and when I walked in it was FILTHY. I should've taken photos but the trash can by the entrance was literally overflowing onto the ground, trash lined the floor leading all the way to the bathrooms/cubbies, and the bathrooms were worse than gas station bathrooms. The teacher was young but nice, she didn't have any gymnastics experience so it was kind of like a daycare vibe. I liked that the kids were able to utlize the smaller and the larger gym during their 1 hr. I noticed after a while that they didn't teach proper gymnastics though, and there didn't seem to be a teaching structure to follow. It was kind of sparatic. They didn't work on form during anything. The kids could do rollovers without properly pushing up on the bar, they could do forward/backward rolls on the floor without proper technique. It was all sloppy. They said at age 5 a gymnast could be eligible for comp team training, but with their style of teaching they would never be ready! Occassionally there would be different teachers and that's when it all went downhill for us. The other teachers were either FAR better or FAR worse than our usual. One teacher didn't have them do any proper gymnastics at all. They were playing the floor is lava, running around doing open gym, and she was even on her cell phone multiple times during class. To me, this style of teaching is not worth my time. I pay for gymnastics and I expect my daughter to be taught gymnastics. I ultimately chose to leave for the following reason: my daughter's teacher had them by the foam pit/uneven bar area, and she closed the spotting bench that's on the side of the bar on my daughter's hand. I was watching from the window and I saw it. My daughter was climbing onto the bar again, the teacher was looking in the opposite direction, and she closed it wihout seeing if anyone was there. I could see my daughter's face - she was screaming in pain. Anna (the owner's daughter) got her an ice pack and her hand was bleeding under the skin a little and she had a bruise for a while. But my main thing was that her teacher never showed empathy, concern, remorse - nothing. She didn't even talk to me or say sorry after class (or the next class!). Anna talked to me while my daughter's teacher vanished. That was her true character and I saw it that day. The teacher did not care about the kids and that was not ok with me. I know everyone has different experiences but this was mine. My daughter learned very little, I feel we wasted our time and money, and that's it. We moved to All Around Gymnastics and we are very happy there. Legacy Elite's gym itself needs some TLC. The bathrooms and the gyms need a remodel. The gym is old and it shows. They also need to send surveys to the parents, because I know I am not the only one with negative feedback."
"my daughter loved this place and her coach at the start... Her coach after about a month was almost never there than she would get some lazy teenager who would not pay attention to the kids and would just sit on her phone"
"Amazing coaching & opportunities to move up/ advance. Our daughter had been taking different rec classes at different gyms since she was 2. In 2023 we returned to Legacy to try out for their team. In April she made pre-team and a few short weeks later in May she made Xcel Bronze team at 4 years old. ❤️ Our daughter struggles with bad social anxiety so we had to withdraw from team after a few weeks but the coaches were amazingly kind and tried SO hard to help her. I spent a lot of time sitting in the viewing room and I truly think Anna Li is one of the best coaches I’ve seen. For being an Olympian, an Olympic judge, and coming from Olympian parents, she is extremely humble and sweet. We appreciate everyone at Legacy, from their office staff to their coaches. (Special shout out to Coach Max for being Arwynn’s favorite, Coach Alyce for giving her that first assessment/ seeing her worth, and Coach Sasha for teaching her SO much in such a short time.) ❤️"
"Great place to take your kids and learn if they like gymnastics. If they do, the trainers do a wonderful job of teaching progress weekly. To add more value, it’s a great price."
"The best of the best!! Fun recreational classes for gymnastics, tumbling, ninja warrior, and parkour and top level training for high level competitive gymnasts!
