"My daughter and I have been apart of the ASA family for 3 years. I can't say enough great things about our experience here! She has grown more in the last 3 years than she has in the last 7 at her first studio. The teachers/choreographers have been so inspiring to her. She has been on a competitive team for a total of 6 years, however during our last 3 years with ASA, she has been given so many opportunities to dance and assist at multiple conventions. "We (my two daughters (ages 5 and 8) and myself) love A Step Above Dance Academy. I appreciate the focus on teaching age/ability appropriate dance technique but also all of the important life and social/ emotional skills that go hand in hand with dance/extracurriculars. I am so impressed with the positive relationships within the classes whether it is dancer/dancer or dancer/instructor. There are a lot of smiles going on during all of the classes but you can also observe the respect, work ethic and grit that is being learned/developed. My 8 year old is a member of the ASA company team. I never thought she would want to compete so young but after her first time performing on stage in a recital setting, she was hooked ("Mommy, I want to be on stage all of the time"). She danced on the petite company for 3 years and is currently dancing in her first year of "big girl" company. She loves it... She loves everything about it. I am so thankful for all of the positive experiences and growth opportunities that go hand in hand with competitive dance. My 5 year old is currently a recreational dancer. I love that she feels just as a part of ASA as her sister. I love that ASA makes you feel a part of the studio no matter your level of commitment. However, my 5 year old has been showing interest in having more stage time like her sister so another company member may be in our future. Last but not least... I have formed so many friendships at ASA. Not only is it the second home of my children but it is also mine. I would highly recommend trying A Step Above Dance Academy. I am so thankful that we found ASA."
