Reviews of USA Sport Karate Center
"It’s sad, my son did a trial back in February for this place. It was nice. As of now I am trying to communicate with them to sign up for actual school and seem to only recieve automated text messages. I attempted calling and there is no one to call me back. A message came stating they sent me an email but no one responded after I mentioned I don’t see the email. It’s bit frustrating. It’s almost like they have machines working for them."
"I have been trying to contact these people for over a week about some problems that have happened in class and I have yet to get a response from anyone. So I cancelled my membership."
"Very AGGRAVATED... Signed my 6yr old son up to see if he would like karate. I had called several times, texted and emailed a couple days before to confirm my time, and got no response. We had an appointment made and told to arrive 15min before our time. My husband and I took him and when we got there (mind you we actually arrived a couple minutes late), not a single person in sight and the door was locked. We waited for 15min outside the place to see if anyone would arrive but NO... My son started crying and I had to explain to him how it wasn't his fault and that I would find him somewhere else to go. I think it was very unprofessional and ridiculous that you can never get ahold of anyone and that no one was there. I have yet to receive a call back or email in regards to my concerns."
"My son has been going to USA Sport Karate Center for years. We first started him in Karate for a confidence level, help his focus, and ultimately give him some self-defense knowledge as he was getting bullied at school. Since going, he's gone well beyond our expectations! Our son is also high-functioning ASD, as well as diagnosed with Social Anxiety Disorder. With his training, he has learned focus and discipline, he's learned how to break things down to make something "large" work in step by step movements to make up the whole (thinking in the ways of learning Katas). He's also learned to take a punch, to give a punch. And believe it or not, he's not had to use his karate once in defense. I believe it's because he's learned what it's truly about and is able to look past a lot of the bullies and their ways (also covid has helped since he's remote learning). He is not a black belt. He's worked his way up from a beginner black belt. in the same school here. Speaking of Covid, the classes have been structured where the children can learn remotely, even test remotely. everyone has had to learn on the fly and I give massive kudos to the center for this. Let me also say that your child will NOT be coddled at the school. That's not what this center is about. Your child will learn a way of martial arts, the philosophy of how the karate also works in aspects of life, will learn responsibility, accountability, and a sense of pride and accomplishment for hard work. Too many times I have watched children come in and act wild, and when the sensei tries to gain control over the room, the parent of said wild child gets all up in arms. And the child continues to be disrespectful. This is not a daycare. This is not a chuckEcheese. This is a dojo, and should be respected as such."
"Our son went here for years. He formed a bond that will last a lifetime. The training is excellent! He advanced to the point that he earned a spot on Junior Team USA and was able to represent our country internationally. These coaches are heads above anyone else in the entire St Louis area!"
