With over 30 years of training and teaching experience, Jermaine creates personalized training programs that challenge you while ensuring safety and injury prevention. Through one-on-one sessions in a private dojo, you will learn technique education, personal body control, and real combat techniques at your own pace.
As you progress through the program, you will earn rankings in the MMA Black Belt Program, starting with a yellow belt and advancing to a green belt. The advanced training camps, such as Combat Boxing and Muay Thai Kickboxing, will further enhance your skills and combat abilities.
After earning your green belt, you will have the opportunity to participate in group classes with fellow students of green belt or higher. These classes include high-intensity bag and pad work, as well as controlled sparring sessions to practice defense techniques.
JAMMA also offers individually scheduled group training and educational talks, as well as the option for Jermaine to travel to approved locations for an additional fee. "I used to work out hard in the free weight gym twice a day, for about 10 years, starting in my late teens. I got good results and enjoyed the process, but it was time-consuming - and as a business owner with a family who depend on me, I just don't have the time for that kind of routine these days. I also ran & rode my mountain bike everywhere. In my mid-to-late 30s, I stopped exercising and started smoking, drinking a lot, staying out all night, and eating crappy convenience food most of the time. I put on about 30 pounds and got used to being fat. I have managed to lose 20+ pounds a couple of times since then, the last time with a strict keto diet. But those approaches are not sustainable or, ultimately, healthy. And they don't fit in with the quality of life I'm looking for. So my approach to nutrition now is essentially the Blue Zones diet and intermittent fasting with an eating window between 11a and 7p. The weight loss is slow and steady, and this is a "diet" I can happily stay on for life. I'm at about 162 pounds now and expect to stabilize at 150 pounds by the end of the year. At this stage of my life, my goals are overall health and fitness, greater longevity, being leaner, having better body awareness, having better coordination and balance, and of course having the ability to defend myself, my wife, my aging parents, or anyone else if the situation demands it. Training at JAMMA with Jermaine Andre is the perfect fit for all of these goals and dovetails nicely with my strength training at BioFit. What I didn't expect in training with Jermaine was the overall life benefits. He did tell me about those and that it's part of what he strives to give to his students. From his instruction I’ve studied Muay Thai, jujitsu, wrestling, boxing, judo, karate ,Jeet-Kune-Do and combat knife fighting. I’ve learned venue security, and personal bodyguard as well. "I joined in January, I emailed them and Jermaine called me after coming across my email and set up an in person meeting. He was kind, genuine, and truthful about what his program is about and what is required from you as a person. When I started I had pain in my shoulder due to a car accident in 2020 and dealing with a torn labrum in my right hip. Which working 12 hour shifts as A registered nurse was not helping and throughout covid it only seemed to get worse. Leading to being bed bound some days due to the immense pain. It is currently August as I write this and I can say my pain has gone from a 20 on a scale of 1-10 everyday, down to a 2-3 most days. There have been times in training where I was barely able to get through warm ups and basic movements but now I am able to do head high kicks without any issue. Spar other members for 45 mins to an hour without pain preventing me from doing so. When I started the program I was 160 lbs right now I am 185lbs. I feel amazing daily, have gotten compliments on my weight gain because its mainly muscle, by following the diet and exercise routines Jermaine gives, along with x2 weekly individual 1 on 1 learning sessions and now that I have obtained my green belt I am excited to join the class and learn more. If you are looking to learn how to defend yourself and those you love, build self esteem, and make a commitment to the improvement of yourself I can not stress enough, how this is the place you need to be. Sure you can probably join another gym and be a blackbelt in a year but you will be in a class of 100 or so students with little to no individual attention. Jermaine is old school tough and will give in to no excuses but that is what we need in life someone to push us into our greater self and Jermaine is that push.
