Reviews of The Birth Place
"I am so grateful I had my baby at The Birth Place! As a first time mom who got induced and had never had a hospital stay, I was so nervous. Jessica and JJ on L&D were amazing and were such great coaches throughout my labor! They really put my fears and anxieties at ease and were truly so supportive rubbing my back and talking me through the entire thing. Hannah and Kristen on mom/baby were absolutely amazing as well! They helped me navigate being a new mom and offered the most amazing love and support. There are truly no words I could say to thank them for everything they did for me. Not only are the nurses amazing, but the facility is beautiful and homey as well. It isn’t super busy either (at least when I was there) and I really enjoyed that. I had some complications after labor and was back in the same room on mom/baby after a procedure and nurses Jennifer and Haley were amazing as well. I’m truly so grateful to the Birth Place for taking such great care of me, and I look forward to having all of my babies here."
"I will definitely be going back to this hospital when I have another child. Everyone who took care of myself and my little one was amazing! We had to stay longer than anticipated due to unforeseen circumstances, but we were well taken care of. I highly recommend giving birth at OMC!"
"The best decision I made was selecting Olathe Birth Place to deliver my little boy. My pregnancy journey was rough and I prayed to God that my labor and deliver would be a better experience and my prayer was answered. Brooke and Tricia made me feel so cared for during labor. They went above and beyond with their care. In recovery, Kristen and Kreisa provided exceptional care to me and my little one. My spouse and I left feeling extremely grateful. Any questions or concerns I had were addressed with kindness. As the conversation of maternal mortality rate among women of color has increased over the past few years, my fear level was very high. Yet, not once did I feel unseen, unheard, or invalidated. I was cared for throughout my entire stay and felt like my nurses took every measure to ensure I felt that way."
"Edit: i forgot to add on the second night our car battery died. One of the nurse said her husband is nearby and can come to the hospital and help us jump the car. That’s going above and beyond her responsibilities. We ended up fixing the battery ourselves but we really appreciate that offer of help. I wish I wrote all my nurses names down. Because every single one of them is so kind. My baby came really fast and we didn’t make it to the hospital. My husband caught the baby at home. However, we still came to the hospital right after to make sure baby and I are ok. Every nurse I had during my stay is super nice, patient with our questions even though they are probably tired themselves. The pediatrician Dr.redcorn is very great too."
"As a woman of color, I do not recommend this hospital to black mothers-to-be. It took me 3 years to write this but I had my daughter here. It was chaotic because I came in already ready to push but the nurses were extremely rough with me. My daughter was crowning and a nurse still tried to place the IV in my arm. They took my baby directly after pushing so she spent most of the hospital stay trying to regulate her temperature in the warmer. They threw my placenta away before asking what I wished to do with it. It was a disappointing experience. After, everything went fairly smooth but during birth, I did not feel safe at all or cared for by the nursing staff. The hospital is beautiful and I could see the quality care that was shown to other mothers-to-be, so perhaps for a different demographic, its the perfect fit."
