"I was at Alexian Brothers in june of 2021. I am a health care professional with experience in a mental health setting. I went to alexian brothers because I knew to reach out for help in the condition I was in. When meeting with Dr Wood, I immediately knew he was not the type of dr who should be practicing in mental health. Our first meeting was less than 10 minutes (which he stated to my parents we met for 30 min!) And when I asked what the goal was for next meeting or what it would consist of, he just repeated that he would see me soon to check in. As a patient, I wanted to know what the plan was for my stay in the facility. Dr was upset that I advocated for my care and wanted my parents involved because I felt VERY uncomfortable. In our last meeting, after telling Dr Wood I would prefer to be at a residential facility and did not feel that alexian brothers was the best care for me, Dr Wood had a hostile tone throughout meeting and had said to me "I need to make sure ur not going home and kill yourself" In that meeting, I asked that the charge nurse be present because I did not trust this doctor, and she witnessed this as well. Had I not already been in the health profession, my experience with this doctor would immediately turn me off to receiving help again. I spoke with hospital regarding matter, however I dont know if they spoke w the dr himself. I was not going to write about him but after seeing how he treated other patients, especially that he threatened me that he could get a court order if I wanted to leave without his "ok". LUCKILY, I was able to advocate for myself bc I know about healthcare and I had a great support system helping me! But theres people out there who cant do the same... If you have a bad experience with a doctor, YOU DESERVE BETTER. Please continue to get help!!!"

"I saw Dr. Wood inpatient at Alexian Brothers behavioral hospital. I went in with anxiety and depression so bad I couldn't sit in my own skin. It was very scary. He spent time with me and listened to me, more than your average psychiatrist, and helped me get better. He reassured me he would not send me home until I was better. I was so surprised how in just a matter of a week how much better I felt and I am so thankful. It can be scary seeing a new psychiatrist but Dr. Wood is not a pull pusher and truly wants to see you get better. I am grateful to have been in his care. I wish I could still see him outpatient!
