"Came here for my anatomy scan went with my partner and mom. During the scan which lasted around 40 mins, my tech Lauri Pickos was extremely rude. She kept jabbing my stomach and jiggling with A LOT of force as she is a slightly bigger woman than me it felt like she was really putting her whole weight into the jabbing. After a bit of the jabbing my partner noticed the pain and discomfort I was in and whispered in a questioning tone if she was hurting me which I believe miss Lauri mistook as them saying she was hurting the baby she proceeded to say in a rude tone "Excuse me?!" which my partner then repeated themselves only for her to respond "I've been doing this thirty years, no I'm not hurting the baby. There are women that run marathons pregnant." only then did she also let us know that she was doing it to get the baby to move. She kinda left us all in shock and I didn't know what to say however after this she did ease up on the force and decided to move me on my side to get the profile picture. Just really sad and disappointed as this is my first baby and I wasn't sure what to expect at the anatomy scan so I thought maybe that just is how they treat you. I understand miss Lauri was only doing her job but she could've maybe given me a heads up or tried to explain things a little better without bringing up unnecessary things because I doubt either her or I are out here running marathons while pregnant so I was definitely not expecting that amount of pain just for the scan, kind of even thought something was wrong with the way my baby was positioned as she seemed very agitated and frustrated by not being able to get the scans as my baby was not budging to move. This is really not hate just really sad that this is an acceptable way to treat patients and that I just stayed quiet."
"I didn't feel anyone I talked to about where to go in this big hospital was very kind. I made it to fetal maternal medicine. Had my scan, baby wasn't having it and made things difficult. I am a plus size HEALTHY pregnant woman. When everything was done Dr came in... was distracted by the screen did not look at me when talking and i felt he was rushing and very mumbled and muffeled by the mask, he said everything looked good but because of my weight we will need scans every 2 weeks due to increased risk of still birth.... no other explanation. My first pregnancy and idk what questions to ask. So I accepted it and went on my way. I don't feel the Dr had time or wanted to educate me on this matter. I did not feel any comfort during this visit, and I do not wish to return."
"Don’t waste your time trying to be seen by this office. I had a referral for a consult from my fertility specialist. I had sent my order for a consult and called trying to schedule. They were unsure how to proceed with scheduling me and said they would call me back. They never did. I had to continue to follow up with them. Ultimately they said they can only schedule patients who are referred by Aurora physicians. I called my aurora OBGYN who sent over an order immediately. I called to ensure they received it. They had and still refused to schedule me. They said the nurse would review the order and let them know how to proceed and they would call me to schedule. That was almost a month ago. I gave up and contacted NorthShore University Health Systems. Their scheduling team reviewed my insurance and got me scheduled in one phone call for a video consult with Dr. Erin Tran who was incredible. After our consult she wrote my consult note and sent it to my fertility specialist in a timely manner. I’m able to move on with fertility treatment thanks to NorthShore and still never received a call from Aurora. I’m very disappointed in their lack of care and communication."
