SIUE University Housing

"The housing practices are predatory. I wasn’t able to submit my application until after July due to external factors beyond my control. I submitted my application for a private room expecting to get a private room or at the very least be informed beforehand that was not an option. Instead I was not informed and had to cancel my housing for the year and they did not give me back my 275 dollar advance payment even though they knew from the start they could not full fill there end of the bargain. Also a lady in the housing department her name is Felicia. She has terrible customer service, is rude, unhelpful unlike her co-workers who at least tried to help and she is just plain mean and disrespectful. If you call this department and get her I suggest you hang up and try again later to get one of her co-workers who may not be able to help but at least try unlike her."

"At SIUE housing they've upperclass housing options like 1) Green hall 2) Bluff hall 3) Cougar Village Cougar Village is best for living."

"Letting you in on a little secret... Woodland and Prairie freshman residence halls are RIDDLED with MOLD, mainly because of the lack of ventilation from the shared bathrooms. I'm not sure how these dorms are passing livability inspections. They know of the mold under those carpets. They still rake in the cash for first year housing while you inhale MOLD SPORES and walk across DIRTY MOLDY CARPETS. Revolting honestly. I would STRONGLY URGE you to live in the nearby newly constructed student apartments like Axis and Enclave, and take Madison county transport to this God-Forsaken campus..."

"Terrible housing. Has a lacking roommate system that does not choose the best roommate at all. Had been matched with horrible roommates...one of my female roommates was a racist and my last roommate was smoking weed and keeping up so much drama. SIUE University Housing needs to start listening to students and taking issues a little bit more serious instead of assuming since we are adults that we can handle it on own...just because we are adults doesn't mean we can handle certain issues."
