"I’ve been seeing the same doctor for awhile and she’s awesome. Besides that, the front desk staff on the bottom and top are helpful and kind. I never had to wait too long to see my doctor or get labs done. I never had an issue with billing. That’s a 5/5. There used to be a transcriber that came in a couple times during my annual exams. Usually an eccentric, nerdish looking girl. I requested to have none of that again. That was like a 2/5 due to the awkwardness."
"My experience with Advocate Aurora left much to be desired. Despite my initial hopes for a seamless healthcare journey, I encountered several significant issues that have left me feeling frustrated and dissatisfied. One of the most glaring problems was the lack of follow-up from my doctor. After my visits, I expected some level of communication to discuss the results of my tests, potential treatment options, or even just a basic follow-up to check on my well-being. Unfortunately, this never happened. It was disheartening to have no post-visit interaction, leaving me feeling neglected and uninformed about my own health. Furthermore, my doctor requested tests, but the communication regarding these tests was severely lacking. I was not given any explanation about the purpose of the tests, what they were meant to diagnose, or any potential implications for my health. It was unsettling to undergo these tests without a clear understanding of their necessity or relevance to my condition. Another issue I encountered was receiving bills from non-Advocate companies despite having never left Advocate Aurora's hospital premises. This was not only confusing but also frustrating, as it raised questions about the transparency and accuracy of their billing system. To make matters worse, these bills did not even show up in the app, further complicating the process of addressing these unexpected charges. My experience with Advocate Aurora was marked by a lack of communication and transparency. The absence of follow-up from my doctor, inadequate information about tests, and billing discrepancies have left me with a negative impression of this healthcare provider. I believe there is ample room for improvement in these areas to ensure that patients receive the care and support they deserve."
"Be wary! When you make the final payment on your bill, the accounting department will backstab you. Since February, we have been paying $65, which is now our final balance. The billing department is dissatisfied that we have made the final payment and forwarded the remaining balance to a collections agency. Advocate is now denying that we ever made payments on our $850 bill and has informed the collection agency that we owe an additional $529, which we have already paid. Mind you, we have transaction numbers to prove we have been making payments. Advocate has given us a difficult time because they do not want money sent to them from a bank; they only want you to use their payment system, which gives Advocate complete access to your bank account. Advocate Health told me we owe $65 over the phone, but they informed the collections agency that we owe $529. The amusing aspect of this situation is that when I log into my Advocate account, I owe no money, as my owed amount is $0.00, according to the Advocate website. How could it be? Advocate has now informed us that the $65 final payment will be refunded to us because they do not want the final payment. They now want us to pay $529 to the collections agency. Why not the full bill of $850? Nothing is owed! Then why employ a collection agency? Make a final payment, and the advocate becomes vindictive because we have paid off the bill and we have been cheated. They stole all of the money we paid them, and we are now informing a collection agency that we owe the entire amount. The height of incompetence"
