"I had billing issues. After going back and forth with them, they agreed on a discounted rate - but if I don’t set a payment plan and make a payment right now, they will charge the full price. I was also told that she didn’t like my sarcasm (I said I felt like they were strong-arming me for money with an attitude) and she could just hang up and bill me in full if she feels like it. I would avoid if you don’t have the money for surprise bill amounts or like offices that properly document things and give you correct information."
"I’ve had very negative experiences with this office. The staff and nurse practitioners I see are very dismissive and rude. I will be looking for a new drs office and would not recommend this one to anyone."
"Dr. Puckett ignored my frustration over not being told results of my ultrasounds on a cyst and explained no options other than a complete hysterectomy. So, he took everything in surgery, despite the cyst being free floating. At my post-op visit, I asked about hormone therapy, being thrust into menopause overnight. He nastily said "No" about prescribing such, and angrily said, " And you never have to come see me again!" I never did! He is the most unconcerned and egotistical Dr. I have ever seen! I could never recommend him or their rude reception staff."
"My husband and I have seen Dr. Piening for a few decades. We really like and respect him. However, the people that answer the phones have been given WAY too much power and make it difficult to get what you need. If you haven't seen the doctor for your well check up within the last year, and I'm talking within 365 days, they will hold your medicine hostage. I don't remember the last time I had my well exam - I just know it was sometime last year. They do not send reminders that it's time to schedule it, either. Last year, I found out when my pharmacy contacted me and said my doctor's office won't refill my medication. When that happened, I called to ask for one more refill and I would schedule my appointment, also. It takes 2 to 3 months to get an appointment with the doctor, which I prefer over physician's assistants for well care. So then they act like they still can't give me my meds because I haven't seen the doctor in over a year. REALLY??? I had to argue with them to get them to talk to Dr. Piening, and he had no problem taking care of me. Same thing happened with my husband today when he tried to get an antibiotic for his annual spring sinus infection. He called and they said he would have to come in because it's been over a year since he saw the doctor. He saw him March 16, 2022, and today is April 14, 2023. They NEVER asked if he'd like to schedule his well exam, just told him he couldn't have a prescription without coming in. (And based on his symptoms, he had special instructions to wait in the car until called, wear his mask, bypass the front office, and go to a special door. For a SINUS INFECTION!!!!) He ended up calling back and saying, no, I'm not coming in. Check with the doctor for the prescription. We're waiting to see if they ACTUALLY check with him, and we'll know, because Dr. Piening knows him and his history and would give him the prescription. I hate that we now have to consider changing doctors just to avoid dealing with the control freaks that answer the phone!"
"Unless you are wealthy and want your $$ prioritized over your healthcare then stay away from BMG. I saw Dr. Geisman previously after diagnosed with an ulcer. I contacted BMG to set up screenings suggested by my PCP and was asked to come into the office for an initial appointment. At the appointment, they updated my paperwork and I said hello to the doctor. Nothing else was done but yet they billed my insurance for a diagnostic appointment. I tried to call them to resolve this but the lady at their group who does the billing/coding refused at all costs and eventually hung up on me. Paperwork can be updated over the phone or online. To force patients into the office just to update paperwork is not a valid reason to bill as a diagnostic appointment. This complaint will also be filed with the state."
