"Here's my experience: Officer Brodie issued me a ticket without considering any explanations I had. That's fine, just doing his job. At least he tried to tell me to ask for a grace that dismisses the ticket after a year of "clean" driving. That's fine. I had to do my hearing virtually because I was back home by then. Apparently there's no such grace for a year concerning violations, okay! So I asked for a trial. But wait! I can't have that either because you have to be in person in order to have a trial. Even if I wanted to drive all the way from Chicago, I didn't have the option because I didn't have the transportation. So in speaking with Jessica Carr one of the State's Attorneys or something. She didn't have the best tone as I was trying to explain to her it was impossible to get to that court in person. It wasn't until I finally settled with questioning how does the payment process work is when she became relaxed. They told me I have a right to choose either options. But really I only had one, and that was to pay the fine. Even more recently I've been reaching out trying to gain an extension to pay my fine and nobody has responded to my emails. I've had to call and reach out to the live courtrooms in order to get in some sort of information. So yeah anybody that doesn't stay in this area I hope the best for you if you ever get a traffic violation."
