"The complete inhumanity exampled by officers here is DISGUSTING. Turning a blind eye to violence and treating inmates like less than human, doing things that NOBODY should do, much less the people who are supposed to uphold the law. I have a dear friend who was given ONE tampon for her entire 6 day stay, said the water was too scalding hot to use for anything, and was consistently being beat up while officers did nothing to stop it. It impossible to live and ever recover the trauma of staying here for even a few days, shame on anyone who excuses these officers! - A concerned and livid friend."
"Someone broke into my home while I was sleeping and stole stuff. I caught the guy on camera. He wasn't wearing gloves and the initial responders said they would be able to get fingerprints from the items we saw him touch and leave behind. Several neighbors identified this guy as a repeat thief who never got sent to jail. I don't know if it was one bad detective assigned to the case, if the bad guy is an informant, or if it is general ineptitude, but in spite of video evidence, fingerprints and several people confirming the identity of the person on the video, he was never arrested/charged with the crime. It doesn't feel very safe living in Lincoln County anymore."
"Someone needs to police the police. I'm blown away that people allow these "officers of the law" to continually use fear, intimidation and tyrrany to uphold what they feel is the law. Not the actual law. Hiding behind the uniform, and taking advantage of the people that they are sworn to protect. What a joke of a department. Bring up Lincoln county to any other municipality and see the reaction you get? There's a reason these officers end up here. It's not because they are stand up officers. It's because no one else wants or will take them."
"It's 3am now, we were pulled over and my fiance taken In right before 2am. I just asked how much longer it would take to finish booking him so I could post his bond money and they tell me "Oh he's the only person back here so it shouldn't take long, but it all depends on what the booking officer feels like doing"...excuse me, but if you're officers of the law it's not what you 'Feel' like doing. I understand he forgot to pay a minor ticket and ended up getting a warrant for that...but I'm 4 months pregnant and supposed to be on bed rest because of complications with my pregnancy, and I'm being made to wait by myself all alone and in pain in your front lobby because you 'Feel like it' what ever happened to serve and protect. I used to think it actually ment something. The only people Lincoln county officers are serving and protecting are themselves. They barely even care about the people in their own community. It's sad, because I used to look up to police officers like they were hero's, now theyre just a bunch of self entitled bullies. Congrats guys what a way to be."
"My brother was threatened by a KNOWN felon that said he was going to shoot my brother in the face with a 45, and that it had my brothers name on it because my brother confronted him about the FOUR screws and the dints in his car. (Note: the family of the felon is mad that a repo man that was chased off their property by a woman holding a Pitbull told my brothers girlfriend why he was there when asked why he was running in our neighborhood. I guess they felt we were intruding on their business even though that wasn't our intent. Just confused why a random man was running towards our house. ) This was over a year ago. We called the LCPD and we were told there wasn't enough evidence and it was hearsay even though my brothers girlfriend and half the neighborhood were witnesses. They didn't care that a known felon said he had a gun in his possession, let alone DIDNT care he threatened to use it to kill my brother. Since then we have been getting DOZENS of screws and nails planted in our driveway and have gone through HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS in tires. Im just going to say right here and right now, if YOU, the people who swore an oath to protect refuse to help us, we will take matters into our own hands. I am aware they can't do anything if we don't have picture proof these are the people planting nails and screws in our tires. But our faith in you doing ANYTHING is nearly non existent. If you didn't do anything when a felon was threatening to shoot my brother in the head why would you care this guy was vandalizing our property? We had proof of the threats and you didn't come, so WHAT would make us think you'd come out when we have proof of the vandalism? We will be taking matters into our own hands unfortunately, seeing as your department refused to protect my family from a gun toting felon threatening to blow his brains out. They told us "just leave him alone" but what's screwed up is THEY WONT LEAVE US ALONE! It's been over a YEAR! And we found yet ANOTHER screw in my brothers tires today. My brother girlfriend has also gotten a nails in her tires. We even found a road spike in our driveway!!! These people aren't letting it go and we don't have enough money to continue being passive on the matter. We will be getting cameras, we will get our proof, and not a single person in your department can get any praise because you forced us to go it alone. US! Law abiding citizens, who have zero convictions have been put on the side burner for a convicted felon. Forced to feel uncomfortable walking our SMALL neighborhood in fear of a gun toting felon who's threatened us before. Ive even felt like my dog was in danger because of their threats. You were supposed to make us feel SAFE, but instead you've made us feel like we're stepping on eggshells in our own neighborhood."
