"After experiencing vitreous hemorrhaging, I was extremely grateful for Dr. Kapur's care and constant follow-up. She made time to see me promptly, after hours, due to the eye trauma I was experiencing, demonstrating a clear commitment to her patients' well-being. Dr. Kapur's thorough examination and detailed explanations eased my concerns, showcasing her extensive expertise. I wholeheartedly recommend her practice for exemplary eye care and professionalism."
"I have nothing but the highest praise for Dr. Kapur and her staff at the Retina Health Institute. She came in on her day off and saw me three days in a row to be sure my infection was not getting worse. So far I have had four appointments this week and another follow-up next week. I credit her swift action with my eye getting better. This was a serious infection that could have left me blind. Dr. Kapur and her staff are both professional and caring and it comes through with each visit to her office. I will be forever grateful that my Doctor referred me to her."
"Dr. Kapur saved my eye. A different surgeon botched up a simple cataract procedure. Dr. Kapur had to come in twice to try to mitigate the damage that was being done. I was on the table over 4 hours for a procedure that should have taken 45 minutes. Dr. Kapur saved my retina which was badly damaged and sent me to a cornea specialist to repair my cornea. I cannot express my gratitude nor sing her praises adequately. She is just a wonderful and skilled doctor!"
"I recently had the unfortunate experience of being a patient under the care of Dr RASHMI KAPUR in Algonquin for possible macular hole surgery, and it was an experience I hope no one else has to endure. The entire process was marred by a lack of professionalism, rudeness, and a complete disregard for patient communication. First and foremost, one of the most unsettling aspects of my experience was Dr KAPUR's failure to adequately explain the surgical technique for the macular hole repair. She never showed me the scan picture and proceeded to start rattling off notes. When I tried to ask a question she held up her hand for me to srop. I have never witnessed a Dr doing this in front of a patient I believe it is my right to be fully informed about the procedure I'm about to undergo. However, Dr KAPUR provided minimal information and rushed out of the room. She also never stated I had a macular pucker too. It left me feeling uninformed and anxious about her performing the surgery. What was equally disheartening was witnessing Dr KAPUR's unprofessional behavior towards her staff. She yelled at her male assistant in front of me in the exam room, which not only created an uncomfortable atmosphere but also raised concerns about the overall quality of care I would receive. A medical environment should be one of respect and collaboration, and Dr KUPAR fell short in demonstrating these fundamental qualities. Furthermore, the inefficiency of Dr KAPUR's staff was a constant issue. Requests were made to the staff for me to see the Dr's notes regarding my condition many times thru the patient portal which never opened in the 2 weeks I was their patient. Samantha is the only person that took my request seriously. Finally after calling several times and asking to see the Dr's notes she sent them to me. Patient portals are to be made available within 24-48 hours normally. It was a nightmare to get my the Dr's notes and my OCT scan sent to Mayo Clinic with numerous requests. Getting the actual scan of my eyes sent to Mayo, even after Mayo's personal phone request to the office staff which they chose to ignore, was so difficult that I had to go sit in their office for almost 1.5 hrs to finally get a disc and send it to Mayo Clinic. As it turned out the disc was unreadable by the mayo clinic Dr. Iave only visited this office twice and the 2nd time as I stood waiting to be addressed by the staff I looked at the person next to me and she nodded go ahead. I even went so far as to imply I might continue in the practce with her paartner, Dr Hussain, in an effort to make them believe I was still their patient. I would never step foot in that office again. This lack of organization only added to the overall gut wrenching experience. In summary, my experience with Dr KAPUR for macular hole surgery was deeply disappointing. Her failure to communicate effectively, her rude behavior towards staff, and the overall inefficiency of her practice created an environment that was both emotionally distressing and frustrating. I cancelled the surgery date and will seek treatment elsewhere. I strongly advise anyone in need of eye surgery to seek alternative healthcare providers who prioritize patient care and professionalism."
"I was shocked to read the review of Frances Miles. It sounds as if she never actually saw Dr. Kapur. My wife and I have found the new Algonquin office has been newly painted, beautifully decorated with all new furnishings and is very comfortable and sparkling clean. The entire staff is well-trained and has always treated us with courtesy and respect, have always returned our calls and willingly took the time to find convenient appointment times for us. I’ sorry if Frances was unable to meet Dr. Kapur because she is the best Retina Specialist ever! My wife and I have been her patients for quite some time and she has spent countless hours explaining our medical options to us. We have told her often that she treats us as if we were her only patients. We know that we are receiving the best expert treatment, caring and professionalism from her and her entire staff! Les and Judy Herman"
