"Today was my very first visit, and I have to say that I was very, very impressed with everyone there with whom I interacted with. My expectations were most definitely exceeded, and I can honestly state that OSF Cardiovascular Institute is an excellent place to get treated at...."
"Excellent medical facility with outstanding personnel and cutting-edge treatments. You're treated with clinical expertise and compassion. I'm a healthcare professional myself, and this is who I chose for my heart valve replacement."
"The Infusion Center within the building is thee most welcoming place with staff who, over the years, genuinely remember you & it is a wonderful bond when you're greeted by people who have taken care of you during your worst of pains & experiences. You feel comfortable at your most vulnerable. I couldn't picture another place I'd rather be cared for during infusions or routine monthly Port flushes. Even when there a moment for a flush you are offered snacks or beverage. The comfort when ill is difficult but their memory of what you enjoy (me, grape juice haha) without asking before remembered & offered is a surprise when morale is hard to come by these days. Thank you ladies for such stoic service & I don't remember the TIA I had during my last flush the other week but thank you for calmly calling 911. I appreciate every one of you. I had began seeing double & as if the building was at a largely angeled tilt. Took off my sunglasses to ask if one of my eyes was [not okay] but knew I was in good hands. Last memory was calmly asking without trying to raise worry or alarm to "okay please, I need you to call 911, okay" or along those lines, after confirmed my eye was essentially wandering in the wrong direction. You have a care for them, even in a time of emergency, where you feel like not causing a panic haha & they are dutiful in service as to also not project panic. Thank you!! It could've been a bad situation but safe & recovering. Wanted to update staff in this review I am okay & appreciate all care provided over the past 3 years. Blessed be to everyone. Liz, bless your heart for spending all your time beginning of pandemic for working whilst also up all night to sew & make facemasks to then ship across the country. Forever a hero to me. Take care!!"
"Very disappointed with having labs drawn. The doctors office in the same building sent us downstairs to have labs drawn. The desk to check in for labs was empty, so I stood in line at the main desk only to be told that I had to register at the empty desk, and that I had to wait to register until that person was back from lunch. So I stood at an empty desk waiting to register my dad for his labs for 5-10 minutes. That is ridiculous as it is all the same registration system. Will not have bloodwork drawn at heartcare Midwest again."
"I really like my doctor, Dr Perks, but I must say that upon entering the building, there is no signage directing you on where to go for whatever procedure you are there for. I had an office visit on Monday, May 9th 2022, and upon arrival, I couldn't see where I needed to go to check-in. There's nothing there that clearly states to go up to the second floor for cardiological office visits. I didn't know where to go, so I ended up going to the diagnostic center check-in desk! I didn't have a mask, so an attendant there who was helping a lady in a wheelchair told me she would get me a mask, and by doing so, I ended up losing my place in line. The lady who got in ahead of me proceeded to go to the counter and just stand there chit-chatting with one of the secretaries there; you couldn't tell if she was doing any type of business with them other than chit-chatting. And the other two secretaries there were busy with other patients. So I had to stand and wait and wait and wait. When I finally was able to get to a secretary, she said "oh you are here for an office visit? Then you need to go upstairs to the second floor; you are in the wrong part of the building". I said "well your signage isn't very clear". I walked away very frustrated! I wish they would put bold, clear signage up as you walk in the door of where to go for what you need. They need that desperately! Otherwise, it's like being caught in a maze that you don't know which direction to go. How hard is it to put signage up? Furthermore, I remember this was an issue when I was a patient here before I moved out of the area in 2015 (I moved back to the area recently). I remember it being an issue then, and it's still an issue today. Very unfortunate and very frustrating."
