"Workers were rude, like I was bothering them by picking up my package"
"This side (north of willow) is only for pickups. To ship, there is another location accessible from Shermer south of willow and just east of the RR tracks!"
"Do you wonder why your packages cost so much to deliver? One reason may be because of how the Northbrook location is managed… To start, UPS paid the entire mortgage of the regional director to convince her to move from Atlanta to Northbrook location. UPS bought her home for her. Her salary was just an added bonus to an already lucrative deal. The trainings, ran by Kenneth, is the biggest organized movement to make the employees the root cause of injuries due to work place conditions. He digresses a lot from the training to discuss how he and his girlfriend like to drink and party. But he will still show up to work. All to say why you shouldn’t drink on the job. It’s not a job you can do drunk. Are any? But being hungover is okay, he does it. He doesn’t open or hold the door for any women anymore because you never know what they will do or say nowadays. All to emphasize workplace rights. He used the only woman in the training group to use as an example about pregnancy. It was embarrassing how he thought he was actually conducting a proper training and following the workplace rights policy. Your entire focus was on why a man should not say and or do anything. Just stay away from women and don’t say anything to them. Okay. However, the biggest problem lies across the board with all management whom act like oppressors on behalf of the regional director. Look at the small sort department, where you have employees, one being Scott, who instead of working attentively stops to talk with another employee about how he told another woman employee to go hang herself. Everyone else just has to work. Meanwhile he and the other employee are just laughing about it. He goes as far to recount how HR asked him how he would feel if someone said it to you. His response, “she had it coming”. But he keeps his job. You can ask Katie, who works near him. And he just laughed and laughed about suicide while the rest just have to keep quiet, head down and work. As told by the redhead supervisor. White heads up, brown heads down. Oh but he has Carlos to help him with the marginalizing process. Carlos small sort supervisor, who would rather spend time gossiping with other employees about Tyler’s sexuality, and I quote “he has a different type of energy, if you know what I mean. It’s a different type of energy.” As he moves his hand up to his chest and drops his wrist to gesture down with all fingers as Tyler was walking by. All to JC to let him know what he thinks about Tyler. Carlos will tell other employees why someone did not come in to work today, and that the person is looking to leave the job. They are tired of the circumstances. Funny, the same circumstances he creates with his bosses. You have a Karen type woman whom goes around telling everyone is greedy for working at UPS just for the wage. Her coworkers use profanity all the time, just like Scott and his suicide commands. The difference is they are white. You won’t find any minorities saying a single word. But you can read the misery on their faces. It’s a two part system anchored by the redhead supervisors. Who facilitates the conversations you hear on the floor. But the worst of it all is, UPS will do periodic updates with employees making them sign acknowledgment letters stating the workplace rights and safety regulations. However, UPS Northbrook doesn’t actually enforce the OSHA regulations. Starting with steel toe shoes. HR will call you before starting work to emphasize the requirement to wear steel toe shoes for safety reasons considering the weight of packages. However, because of worker needs, UPS has been overlooking the rules, as Ken said. If OSHA walked in today, you would find a sneaker heads dream world. Every sneaker or slip on vans you can imagine. Who is actually paying attention? Obviously not OSHA. And UPS Northbrook makes it look like a useless government organization. A picture of the work schedule is include to show the words here are true."
"Ups driver didn't attempt my delivery and charged me $16 to pick up my package myself. When I showed up, my package had been shipped to a ups that's hours away from my house. Everyone working there needs to be fired"
"Lazy drivers will lie repeatedly and say they “attempted delivery” even though you’ve been sitting at home all day waiting to sign for the package they never tried to deliver. Then they will try to get you to do their job and pick it up yourself. In my case it was a corner store that had a shooting a few days before. When you try to call you will be stuck in phone tree hell where it hangs up on you repeatedly to discourage you from talking to a real person. Truly awful customer service!"
