Hope Hall
About the Business
Hope Hall is a transitional housing facility located at 1919 North 20th Avenue, Melrose Park, Illinois. This institution follows the Safe Haven Model and is dedicated to reaching out to men and women who have been living on the streets for an extended period of time, often due to mental illness and substance abuse issues.
In collaboration with the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital, Hope Hall offers a supportive environment for Veterans to achieve stability and long-term self-sufficiency. With 14 beds available (12 male and 2 female), the facility provides 24-hour staff support, nutritious meals, therapy groups, case management, and access to various services including medical and mental health care.
The low threshold / low demand philosophy at Hope Hall ensures that residents are treated with dignity and respect. The program includes individual counseling, peer-driven learning, and a focus on self-improvement and recovery. Each room features two single occupancy beds, foot lockers, a community kitchen, and a television room. Other amenities include a patio area, high-speed WiFi, computer stations, and laundry facilities.
Interested Veterans must be homeless, have an honorable or general discharge, and have a diagnosis of mental illness and/or substance use disorder. Potential residents will need to undergo assessment and referral through the VA Hospital. Donations to Hope Hall are tax-deductible, with the institution's Tax ID being 36-2723047.
