"I was put on the waiting list for a psychiatrist last August, I've tried to call and email them since the beginning of this month and haven't received a response."
"This is the best mental health practice I've ever been to. Dr. Villamontes is kind and compassionate, willing to listen, and open to allowing patients to take in active role in their care. Sandy, the counselor, is also amazing, and I think her methods are much more intelligent and effective than those of any other counselor I've ever met. The only drawback is that this is a low-budget operation inside of an old convent house; it's small, dark, and limited in amenities, not only in terms of the waiting room but also with their phone lines and scheduling. It can take months to get in the first time. Moreover, I find that their waiting list does not work; you have to call, get on the waiting list, then call again a month later and tell them you were already on the waiting list. Once you get in, however, it's great. It's a place that operates more as a charitable service than a business; they are there to help, not to make money."
"I’ve been seeing Dr V for over 10 yrs. I rescheduled my last appointment in October bc of a family emergency (My mom has surgery on her lung to remove cancer that day!) and they couldn’t get me in until February. They told me to not worry about my refills; just call them in. They approved my mood stabilizer 4 days ago, but did not approve my Aprazolam, which is HELL when you run out. Said I needed to see the Dr. I’ve been on benzodiazepines for 14 years! I have crippling anxiety and haven’t left my bed in days. I’ve called for the last 4 days and today I’m told she is out of town for the holidays & she can’t tell me when it will be improved. Thanks St Louis Counseling staff and Dr! I’ll be in the hospital for Christmas because Benzo withdrawal is deadly!"
"My appointment here was a disaster. The office was disgusting and it looked like it hadn't been swept or cleaned in years. The therapist I saw was very pushy and was more focused on forcing her religious views on me than actually listening to me. I also found it really weird that they force you to take a survey about your experience right in front of the therapist, which makes it hard to honestly rate them. When I left I told them that I was unable to afford their price if my insurance didn't cover me, and they told me that they would put me on their sliding scale policy. Months later I get a bill for over $100 dollars, which was way over the price they quoted to me. I'm luck that my insurance covered some of it, otherwise it would've been $200 for just one session. Run, don't walk, away from this awful excuse of a mental health facility."
