Reviews of New Connections Academy
"I had a great time here and the teachers were nice."
"I was a student here and the school was just horrible. I was verbally abused by my teachers and staff. Oh and there’s way to much favoritism in this school. The worst thing I’ve experienced here was 2 teachers made fun of me for having to much sensory tools. So plz don’t go here!!!"
"Too much favoritism in this school"
"I had a chair thrown at me at least 16 time over the course of a year"
"Horrible. I sent my son to this school since he was just mildly socially awkward. He was on his way to a really bright future, but the school ruined his high school career. This so called school only focuses on therapy for autistic children, but really can only manage to help the lower functioning individuals. No high functioning child should be sent to this school. They offer no advanced classes, no AP, and no IB. They force kids to be treated as the same when some obviously have different levels they are at. Children aren't allowed to leave the school until they 'transition' back to public, which is an extremely biased process. If a teacher simply feels like they don't want you to leave, they can prevent you from leaving. We only escaped after moving to another state. My child had to actually take extra classes and summer school in his new school. I was shocked to learn that the school didn't actually provide enough credits to allow my child to graduate, and they had provided no foreign language so it was virtually impossible for him to get into any private institute. He had to take classes on APEX and summer courses to be able to catch up for graduation. If your child is on the lower functioning side of the spectrum then yes, this is the perfect school to send them to. If they are on the more advanced side, you should reconsider. Online school is much better than having your child belittled and treated like a child in high school."
