Reviews of Midwestern Career College
"I called today to get some basic information about the program, the lady in general information was short tempered, rushed through all of my inquiries and was very quick to say this program cost $40900. as to just scare me off and to get off the phone with me. I'll be looking somewhere else for education, somewhere else where they have a little more empathy for students."
"Had applied to this school. Paid all the fees for application, transcripts, etc. Took the entrance exams and passed. Received my classes/schedule and sent them my fafsa. I had been registered for my classes already. I did an interview, the person that interviewed me was not professional, believe her name was Danielle Dertz. When trying to answer questions, i was cut off constantly and put down. Then right when everything was set and done for me to start the course, they give me a call that they do not want me as a student. My time was wasted, as well as money. They thought that I was not a good fit for the program because it is "too stressful". Previously, I was a full time student as well as a full time employee and received my degree from a different school with good grades, so I was stunned at this claim. They based this claim off of a previous job I had quit which had no relation to the MRI program itself. Instead of giving me a chance, when i expressed my interest and drive for the school i was shut down. Really disappointed in how i was treated as a student in the pandemic wanting to further my education"
"Great fast-paced medical programs for working adults. Flexible hybrid programs. Most of the teachers are wonderful and all of them provide the necessary resources. If you are not extremely self-sufficient and organized it can be very difficult to finish the programs. I made some great friends and got closer with my classmates during the Covid Pandemic when our classes went virtual. The teachers try to get you in the classroom as much as possible which was great for learning."
"Hats off to the instructors that have the passion to teach. That will make sure everyone is fallowing along and understand the assignment, leaves nobody behind. However, there are instructors that just flip through the slides and if you miss something, you are on your own . They are oblivious or don't care on the stress that they're putting the students through. If they had any compassion, they would advise a student or students that are falling behind , and ask what they can do to help. That is not what I experienced from a certain instructor or a certain director of the school. I was late once and behind on some quizzes, and I was dropped. What school gives up on a student??"
"They get one star only because zero isn’t an option! Staff turnover is ridiculous - several instructors for one class during the same term... administrative errors, one after the other - no one knows what is going on... my daughter has repeatedly been marked absent even though she signs in and out of classes every time... she’s been jerked around on financial aid, and just today she found out she’s owes several thousand dollars because of mistakes made in processing paperwork... the university (and I use the term very loosely!) repeatedly loses paperwork and enters information incorrectly. Do yourself a favor and choose another school!"
