"This is our third time coming back to Bear Paddle. My two older kids went through the program and are now competitive swimmers. My oldest started at 3.5 and now 9 years later is in top 5 swimmers in the state. Competing in Central Zone Age Group,KS and NCSA Age group in FL. My 9 year old is achieving regional cuts for 9-10 age group.This program really works! Twice a week lessons are great to build skill for life. Now our youngest is going through the program and loves it. There are many schools popping up in the area which we tried at first to see the difference and decided that none of them compare to Bear Paddle. Yes pool area is warm but not for parents but for the swimmers!!!! I much rather sit in warmer temperature and be able to stay closer to my child not see the through glass wall. Coaches and staff are great! They do try and accommodate families individual needs."

"We were at Bear Paddle for a year and did our best to give them the benefit of the doubt. The first six months were great. We had a consistent teacher and my 3-year old was making steady progress. Loved his instructor. Then, his instructor left and the last 6 months were a series of new teachers each week. My child began to backslide since he got shy with a new teacher every single lesson. We finally gave up when his most recent fly by night instructor didn't even bother with monthly evaluations for his class. When we signed up, they made us a progress guarantee. I never heard a peep about it ever again despite my concerns. You should also know that the pool area is impossibly hot. If you aren't in the water, be prepared for a weekly sauna. It's loud, brutally hot, and it's sometimes hard to watch your kid from the benches with obstructions in place. The staff won't know your kid's name or be up to speed on their progress. They'll keep telling you to do family swim so that you can do the job of teaching your kid to swim. Spots are limited and availability opens only a week before. Be aware these hour-long spots are educational only. No fun of any kind in your designated half-lane. For the price, I'd hoped for a more attentive staff. We left because other schools were able to provide what Bear Paddle couldn't. They couldn't promote my child a single level in a year. I wish they prioritized education, but sadly no."
