Reviews of Smooth Relocation vanlines
"Let me just tell yall….i wouldn’t trust anyone else. After my husband and almost got bamboozled by a scammer mover, we were incredibly leery about going forward with any company. I called and spoke with George and he was incredibly honest and transparent with us and gave us a clear understanding of what to expect. He was able to calm both me and my husband down. We signed the dotted line and the billing and dispatch departments called, emailed, and texted us every update, snag, change in plans etc. the pickup was on time as was delivery. The drivers and helpers were beyond friendly and professional. Yall I cannot say enough to even come close to how well my husband and I were taken care of. Yes it was expensive, but moving usually is. I’d spend the $$ again with this company in a heartbeat. Thank you so much Smooth Relocation!"
"Its been over 5 years since "Smooth" Relocation moved my belongings from Missouri to Florida. They charged me double the quoted amount and then half of my items were either missing or broken. My full set of dinnerware ended up being 3 bowls and 2 cups. My blender ended up being just the base...no top or attachments. My wedding dress? No one knows and they keep sending me pictures of wedding dresses that aren't mine. Just how many wedding dresses have you lost? There's so much more that I can't even express. The only reason I am brought back to this nightmare is that a family member asked me where the ceramic Christmas tree was that my grandma made in the 80's. I don't know???? Only "Smooth" Relocation can know this. Stay away from this company!!!"
"For starters, the company did not send out anyone to get an actual assessment of the items in my home. I explained everything by phone only to have an extra $3k added to my balance once they arrived on the day of to start packing. Very poor communication from our sales person, George. He was too busy trying to laugh with me and tell me how other companies do things instead of documenting the correct inventory. I was going to use the company to ship my car, but after this experience, I have opted to do more research. I would suggest using a company that will visit your home and give a true assessment. Also, customer service was rude as was the administrative assistant at the local office. On a positive note, the guys who packed my home were nice. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this company to my worse enemy."
"LONG: I just used Smooth Relocation in a move from Milwaukee, WI to Raleigh, NC. It was a mixed bag of pros & cons (which I will detail), but I have ultimately been left quite disappointed. The beginning in the process was smooth and extremely professional. George from sales was extremely communicative and great to deal with (throughout the entirety of the process). That was about the only thing I would grade as a positive alongside how quick and efficient the actual crews were at pickup (wrapping & disassembling) and drop-ff (unwrapping & re-assembly). The negatives; Sales has absolutely no insight into the operations, shipping logistics, or warehouse side of the business. We were aiming for pickup to delivery to take about a week. NOT EVEN CLOSE. Ultimately it took 16 days to arrive, with minimal communication or reasoning form the operations side of things. Additionally - COST. My initial quote went up by slightly less than half of the original price at pickup date, as the quote wasn't accurate, more space was needed in the truck than the initial quote gave. Then the real kicker - the day the load was departing from the warehouse on a truck headed to North Carolina, I received an email essentially stating that the logistics team had "just now" deemed that the original truck wouldn't be able to maneuver comfortably at the drop-off location, and I would need to pay another $700 shuttle fee to have it moved from the truck to a smaller truck at drop off, or my belongings would be held. The bed frame was damaged, and could not be put back together, but due to it being “pressed wood” Smooth Relocation would not be “accountable” for such. In all, my initial quote was doubled by the end, took FAR too long to deliver, and I wished I would have made different arrangements. The whole process was far from seamless and left me incredibly frustrated. I would recommend looking elsewhere for your next move."
"The entire experience through smooth van-lines relocation was anything but smooth. Communication from their sales team to dispatch is poor and their customer service is extremely lacking. From beginning to end, they failed at every step of the process. You're told you will receive a 24 hour courtesy call before pick up. We received a "Were outside now" call. The men who picked up were visibly hungover and spoke about how bad they were feeling the entire time. They were careless with my items and caused damage to both the items and wood floors. After about 5 days after we were told we would get a call, I decided to call to check the status. Every customer rep told us a different story from "You just have to wait for a call" to "You have to call the 3rd party company we hired for you" to "We're trying to locate your items now, they're in a warehouse". Finally after 10+ days of trying to get an answer from them, they located our items and delivered. Delivery was also careless and damage was done to walls and items. Do yourself a favor a hire a different company."
