"My fiance and I paid Robert $3000 in total to go to court to have his childs biological rights terminated so that I could in turn adopt him even though we are not married yet and at the time, did not have a date set as it got pushed back due to trying to move. And moving was more of a priority at that time. I had sent numerous emails with documents to support the fact that the defendant knew previously about child support and that she never tried to arrange visits to see the child. Also sent proof of defendants whereabouts about leaving the state after she claimed she did. With leaving after she claimed, it would prove that she had received the papers from court back in 2015 stating her visitation rights and child support amount to be paid. I also sent proof she had been back and forth from Missouri (where she moved) to Iowa and did not contact my fiance and I to set up a visit. There was also a facebook post that showed she had no credibility about her father that claimed he had 2 months left to live in 2015 for cancer (I think on the year) with nothing for the doctors to be able to do and still alive to this day. There was also DHS papers from the time the child in reference got taken until July 2014 when his father, my fiance, got full custody and they closed the DHS case. The lawyer did not include half of the evidence he received. He also did not send us the documentation of the courts ruling until a month and a half after court once I contacted him to find out what was taking so long at which I went and got a copy of the ruling which he had gotten a week and a half earlier (roughly). He did not fight for us like he was supposed to do upon agreeing to take our case, it was half-assed and for us to not get the ruling right away as most contact was through email was ridiculous. With the lawyer not fighting the ruling for us, we lost the case and I have not been able to adopt him."
