"Our homeschool program, MHSAP, recently went to a 1922 school day at Forest Grove School. "Miss Buddie" did a fantastic job and the children enjoyed the experience. The opportunity gave the children a lot of higher order thinking skills to discuss with their parents as they got in their 2000ish cars to drive home."
"We attended a publicized open day, but I don't think they are open every day. The restoration is obviously done with great love and appreciation for the rural schools of Iowa's yesteryear. Kudos to the committee, the volunteers, the board, and all the donors who have made it possible. I hope the school will never fall into a state of utter disrepair as it did before!"
"Historic one room schoolhouse. The school built in 1873 is in it's original location along with the swings and giant stride. Closed for the winter but when it's open there is a GREAT 10 minute video that gives a brief history of 1 room schools and great interviews with former students and teachers; also a brief look at restoration."
