"My payment triggered a fraud warning on my debit card. I called the bank, they cancelled the card and assured that if the transaction was fraudulent, that I wouldn't be responsible. I tried to call this Universal Lenders "business", but they REALLY don't want to talk to anyone and make it difficult to reach a live agent. Don't buy a warranty at a dealership that has anything to do with Universal Lenders. Even if all they do is take automatic payments, they will make that difficult for you."
"A complete rip off charging me $80 a month then when I needed a small repair of $150 they told me it was not covered even though I got the highest bumper to bumper coverage they offer. Plus, they have my warranty under the wrong name? This is a scam. Do not use this company."
"A company of scam artists. They advertise no fees but once you've signed paperwork, they will nickel and dime you every step of the way and have designed their customer service and payment systems to prevent the customer from having any semblance of convenience or control. If you sign up for auto pay, you either have to have a checking account or they will take an extra $4 from every payment. If you try to pay over the phone because their autopay made a mistake, they charge you $15. If you don't want to use that, your only other option is to pay by paper check which takes far too long for them to receive and enter into your account assuming it doesn't get "lost". And when a personal check does get "lost", they wont tell you until they're threatening to default you and they'll once again try to charge you a $25 fee to "find" that check. You're better off borrowing from a check cashing place between a Subway and a convenience store."
"People on the phone are friendly and always helpful but the only thing I don't like it's they charge you $15 on a debit card over the phone. At least I paid my full amount and my account is closed. I don't have to worry about them charging me extra. I wish they could at least give people an option to pay it online."
"That insurance sucks to deal with. It turns out that our card they used to do auto pay was canceled and we got in touch quickly. But they solve everything through a completed letter and it takes two days to reach them and the answer takes about three days. We were trying to resolve it to pay quickly and we couldn't. They charged a fee of $30.00. And to solve this there is only one person. Horrible. It looks like a backyard company. And on their website there is no login to look at the account or anything. They still charge a fee if charging by debit card."
