"Apathetic bank. My family and I had been banking with Southport bank for many years. There were times when we found ourselves struggling and found we had over drafted. We tried to cover the fees as soon as we discovered the problem. Sometimes it was hard to predict when bills would go through. Southport reached out to us. They said they waived any overdraft fees and called us in for a meeting. They gave us a no-interest loan to help us get back on our feet. I miss that, the compassion. First American came around and everything changed. The tellers are still super nice but the bank doesn't care about anything but money. Even with a good history with them and the interest they make holding your money, they take a loss and dump you. I found myself becoming homeless and told them that in a reply email. I received no reply and instead could no longer log into my account. Remember, banks hold your money and make money from it. You would think they might have some compassion when you fall on hard times. Not First American Bank, that's for sure."
