"Would not recommend. Got stuck with a driver named Mykhailo. He was rude, unprofessional, and an unsafe driver. If you're looking for a ride, look elsewhere."

"Very reasonably priced. Drivers are very courteous and respectful. Sends you text message with their arrival time and type of vehicle. On time (even early by 15 minutes!) and very accommodating. I mistakenly gave the wrong return date for our return trip and they still were accommodating to pick us up on such a short notice. Nick was there within 5 minutes of my call. Highly recommend them!"

"I booked a ride from ohare to the Chicago burbs at 12:45 am on 4/7/23 and received back a message that i would be picked up in a few minutes. after 20 minutes or so of waiting i tried to track the whereabouts of the taxi. It was going from the burbs to ohare arriving a ohare at around 1:40 am. After tracking the taxi, American Taxi cancelled the ride claiming that it was a customer request. Right away i called and the operator told me that they were overbooked. Bottom line, never use American Taxi for late night rides. This was the second time American Taxi failed on late night rides from ohare to the Chicago burbs."

"Just like everyone else here, scheduled in advance for a ride to a surgery (at least 8 hours in my case), got a text 15 minutes before the surgery that they couldn’t find a taxi for me. Called a very breathy dispatch who told me that they MIGHT have someone to pick me up in 15 minutes. They never came. Maybe you will have better luck if you have a more substantial trip as mine was local, but when I start traveling again I’m not going to take a chance on them."

"On February 8 I was flying back from out of state; due to a snow storm coming in I was concerned I would not even be able to fly into Chicago but we landed on time and I was confident that I would be home in the near future. American Taxi has this little service where you text how many minutes until you are ready and they send you the cab number. I did send my text and I got a response they were looking for a cab for me, this seemed odd since I had made my reservations 2 days earlier. Little did I know what was to happen. I waited for 1 hour for American Taxi to provide a cab, I tried to call the company but you cannot get a live person, and so I waited. Finally, after almost 1 hour I got on my Lyft app and found a person who would take me home for about the same cost. I cancelled the order on American Taxi's little app and got a ride home. In the weeks that have followed I have called four times to speak to a manager on why they abandoned me at O'Hare - I have yet to receive a call back. There is one conclusion this traveller has - they have business so they do not care! Their rates are very competitive but if you look at this site you will see that my experience is not unique. I have been a customer for over 5 years but I can say that I will NEVER use American Taxi again."
