"EDIT 2: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice... Well, I gave these people a second chance. Never do that again. Scheduled for several hours before I needed it, assuming I may need to walk to my destination. Driver even called and confirmed. Yeah, that didn't mean anything, either. Completely blown off this time. Tried calling, but the dispatch isn't open 24 hours. Ended up calling Flash cab, and their guy came within 15 minutes. Lesson learned, the drivers for Taxi One simply don't care. That's fine, I'll go with the drivers for Flash/303. They are computer dispatched, so HQ knows when you pick up the fare. Makes it harder to gaff off someone. If you do that enough times, they'll stop accepting you to drive for them. They're also kind of picky on who drives for them. Get into too many wrecks, and they'll force the company that leases the car to drop you from driving Flash/303. EDIT: OK, so the first driver completely blew me off. Scheduled for a certain time, still making excuses and "five more minutes" more than an hour later. Blew off steam by screaming at their dispatch. Yes, drivers are independent contractors, but driver actions reflect on the cab company as a whole. Dispatch said he was "going to fire this guy". Not sure if I believe that or no. However, he did promise to "send [his] best guy" to come fetch me, and he would be there in five minutes, which he was. Apparently, either the dispatch corroborated stories with the driver, or it's true. My driver told me when he was called from the break room, dispatch (who is apparently the BOSSman there) was screaming at a driver. Dispatch (Steve, the BOSS) explained to me over the phone that the driver who blew me off had done this before to a customer and that he was cheesed because it's hurting his business (he's right, that kind of thing hurts business). Seeing as how a driver has no need to lie, I'm tending to side with Steve, the BOSS. Now, I did have to pay full meter, but I did give a very generous tip. As much as I would have liked something financially, I understand that the drivers do work for themselves in the end, although they could have done something like I pay half meter or something, and they will work something out with the driver for a credit on his car lease or something. Clearly, the lesson here is schedule your cab (in general) WAY before you need it, like an hour before). I scheduled mine about 15 minutes before I needed it, figuring I'd give the guy a 5-10 minute window to be late. (I called in my reservation more than 12 hours prior, to differentiate between "schedule", meaning the time he needs to be here, and "reserve", meaning the time I called to place my order). So, in the end, they did make the situation "right", even though (in my opinion), they could have done more, so only 3 stars. That rating may be revised upwards later if I ever need a cab again, and they come through."
