Reviews of Eads Bridge
"It has really good views when you are on the bridge but there is a ton of broken glass on the floor and it leads into a very unsafe area and the walkway is a very tight area and 2 people can come from both sides and Robb you it is the perfect place to get robbed I would not recommend going here and if you do take caution."
"Despite what Google Maps directions say, pedestrians can actually walk from the commuter / casino parking lot across the bridge for viewing the arch or get into STL. Just walk through the gate at the parking lot and then take the elevator or stairs to the train station. Then walk up the rest of the ramp."
"Close the the Gateway Arch national park. A short walk in the park leads to the bridge where you can view the Mississippi River and the railroads down below. There are also helicopter rides nearby. Seems too much commercialized."
"A National Historic Landmark, the Eads Bridge was the first bridge built across the Mississippi south of the Missouri River. In fact, of all the bridges that currently span the river, James Buchanan Eads' masterpiece is the oldest. It popularized the first large scale use of steel and construction techniques used in later bridges such as the Brooklyn Bridge in New York. A grail type visit for bridge aficionados."
"Very famous and historic old bridge in St Louis that has been restored and maintained and still holds car traffic as well as light commuter rail. In a city full of amazing and important historic architecture of this bridge stands out!"
