"I spoke with Victoriya to inquire about insurance, who said I shouldn't have any responsibility due to my secondary insurance and the state writes it off. I explained my case may be different and that the state won't pay unless they take my secondary insurance, which they didn't. I was told to send copy of my insurance card and they can give an estimate before my first scheduled appointment. A week later and no response, I sent a follow-up e-mail. Two days later and still no response, I call to follow up. There did not appear to be any follow up regarding my insurance, although they did assure me they would personally write off what my primary insurance did not cover as they are not allowed to charge me due to specifics of my secondary insurance. I was told billing would call me back to answer my specific questions. Billing called and said I would be responsible for paying until my deductible was reached, but was unable to provide how much per session that would cost and just that it would probably take a few appointments to reach my deductible. They also told me I didn't have to pay right away and can slowly pay it, such as $25/week. However, when I looked over the consent form... I had to consent to “automatic credit card payments” that allowed them to charge me for anything I owed, including deductible, once they received notice from insurance what I owed. I called back to inquire about this as it was opposite from what I was told. The person answering the phones confirmed I would be automatically charged and wasn't sure why billing told me that. The consent also said I would be responsible for what my insurance didn't cover and I asked for written confirmation that what my primary insurance didn't cover after deductible would be waived. They told me they cannot provide that. I also told them I need to know specifically what payment would be for appointments prior to hitting my deductible, but they were unable to provide a dollar amount. I was told I can go to my first appointment and wait to see what the bill from insurance says. It was clear there was no follow up with my insurance to understand my out of pocket costs. After asking these questions, I was told me they just received notice the therapist I was set up to see tomorrow no longer had openings at my scheduled time. They did offer another therapist (and their therapist page did not list any of the specific skills or experience I needed), but I felt very uncomfortable working with this business if they cannot provide cost estimate of services, esp after they told me they would provide my out of pocket costs before my scheduled appointment 9 days prior. So I declined and will not be moving forward with any therapists at their practice."
"This place destroyed my career. Do not be involved in anyway possible. The Chicago Police Department needed information from this facility for my employment with them and they refused to provide information until it was too late. I was disqualified because of their inaction and lack of transparency and professionalism. It took me 3 weeks to get into contact with my doctor. This was the final step of being employed with the CPD. Month 9 of the employment process. Now I have to do the entire thing over again. Thank you so much! All of my hard work for nothing!"
"I happened to have found a therapist who had helped save me when I could save myself. Unfortunately the office itself is unprofessional, non responsive. They do not mail, return calls, return emails. I had cobra and the office couldn’t figure out how to bill the cobra insurance and kept sending a bill to the wrong insurance. A balance built up because of the billing errors eventually I gave up and made a payment plan. No matter how many times you call they will gladly take a card for file but say you are responsible for calling the to find out if you owe them money. The Director, Dr Victoria S. plainly told me at a time of crisis that she was sure they could find me a referral. I’m a Nursing Director that works with behavioral seniors. Weekly therapy helps me be able to help my residents and families. I have been seeing my therapist 1-2x weekly for over a year and all of a sudden they outsourced billing and the business office just stopped responding. As a provider of health services myself I was appalled at the obtuseness of the director. She was cold with no compassion or empathy. She put my life in danger by knocking me unstable at a time I need stability and have been successful in my healing and growth . She was not willing to even hear the truth about her office. They have questionable ethics in the practice. At least 2 therapist I know of are a horrible. I actually worked in another office with one before since out line of work intersects. My therapist is by far the only good thing I have found. Personal ethics outweigh the professional ethics occasionally. Hope someone sees it."
"I have no idea what the great reviews are because this place is a total joke. The therapist have no idea how to treat their patience they say they’re gonna send you information, but never do and say they got too busy. How are you supposed to practice the techniques they want you too if you never got them. Also, their billing process is horrible. They don’t tell you that they’re gonna be billing you or if they had a issue with your insurance company, they will just bill you and not let you know. I would stay away from this place because everybody there is rude and doesn’t care about anybody."
"I couldn’t be happier with my experience at Progressive Psychological Healthcare. I have been working with Dr. Tsaran for years. Her advice, coping skills, sharp intellect and kind words have helped me get through numerous life changing events in my personal and professional life. Her perspective and council have helped me stay on track with my personal and professional goals. I find scheduling and billing easy and never had any issues with either. Parking is plentiful and the location is easy to find. I have met other professionals in her practice and find them equally pleasant and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Progressive Psychological Healthcare. I find the experience indispensable to my self-improvement, overall health and well-being."
