"When you watch the video, you might get exited by the prospect of actually finding a real psychologist who accepts Meridian-Medicaid in Illinois. Unfortunately, EAC and their affiliates are disorganized. This led to communication issues. In our case, we explained our history & situation in great detail. But after numerous friendly interactions, interviews and a counseling session- the rug was suddenly pulled out from under us & we were given the cold shoulder. Why? Mainly because the intake person was unprofessional and didn't pass a memo to their superiors or make us aware of their restrictions & limitations. Take heed! If any of our fellow desperate people are in dire need of counseling- don't get your hopes too high here, because at any moment their licensed professionals might exercise their [expressed] right to drop your case instantly! But with any luck- they may send you elsewhere. Good luck. Even if you have already established yourself with these people, made mention of the stigmatized issues in question and gotten to know the staff- regardless of that- once that one unfavorable detail dawns upon them- your newly established support system will fall apart like a house of cards. This could easily causes triggers for people at risk of self-harm, or worse. Being dumped by EAC immediately triggered our Borderline Personality Disorder & Major Depressive Disorder. Talk about instant negative reinforcement & justifiable reasons to feel abandoned! They dumped our case on very short notice of a scheduled appointment and offered a couple of dead-end references as recompense (one of which was thoroughly inappropriate, which further points to the lack of consideration, awareness & professionalism.) You're just 1 mistake away from being unworthy of EAC... tread carefully!"
"This place is a joke. One session and they violated many many rules. Towards the end of a 3.5 hour session (supposed to be 1 hour) the counselor said she'll relay information to someone because she's not actually a counselor."
"EAC is amazing!! They have done so much to help my mental health. I cannot recommend EAC high enough. Not just what they have done for me but they now have a rainbow wing for gender affirming therapy and their non profit the Judah Robinson Foundation is doing great work for the homeless including providing cooling and heating centers!"
"This place has brought such peace to me and my son. I’m glad that son has a place where he speak and fell safe."
"I highly recommend!"
