"I have had the pleasure of knowing Colleen Koncilja for about twenty years. I have known her in the capacity as a practice director, clinical director, colleague, adjunct professor, clinician, and friend. "Border line unethical practice. My wife and I went to Colleen in the early stages of the pandemic for marriage counseling. This was initially successful however many of our therapists left the practice over time. As I got acquainted with a new therapist the owner of this practice became my wife's counselor. Again my therapist left the practice after several months. By this time our marriage counselor had also left but we found her at a new practice and began marriage counseling again. I have since left this practice as I learned that Colleen was asking some of my former counselors to do things they felt were unnecessary and unethical. Colleen clearly has boundary issues with my soon to be ex-spouse. I believe in mental health strongly since I had a mental health breakdown early on in the pandemic, and the fact that I have a condition exacerbated by stress this was not factored in several times during my therapy and the direction that Colleen led my counselors and my spouses sessions. My wife during the last year of our relationship, while 8 months pregnant was so anxious about getting sick during her pregnancy she threw me out for wanting to attend a family holiday gathering in January of 2022. This was considered a "boundary issue" for Colleen. It was not recognized that my spouse was likely having tremendous social anxieties which have continued through the pandemic. I'm not going to blame Colleen for the loss of my marriage, but based on the number of therapists she has gone through in the short time we were under her care and some of the feed back I received from her former employees I would strongly advise avoiding this practice at all costs. Most other mental health professionals I have worked with feel her behavior during our care was unethical and a major conflict of interest as my care began being more based on what my wife wanted as opposed to what was in my best interest. When you go to someone for help you should get objective help, not help based on someone else's assessment (mind you I have never had a telehealth appointment or even spoken with Colleen on the phone and I am told she has a very negative opinion of me despite never actually communicating with me.) AVOID THIS PRACTICE."
