Reviews of Ryan Espenschied, MA, MATS, LPC
"If I could get zero stars or negative stars I WOULD. This has got to be the worst “therapist” ive ever worked with. His solution to anyone with any relationship or marital problems is getting a divorce or leaving person. Which would make sense because he is divorced. So that should already tell you how reliable his recommendations are. He charges for his scratch notes, you can barely read and he throws them together. Most of his notes and documentation are inaccurate and doesn’t serve any purpose. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS GUY unless you just want to pay for someone to tell you to leave as a solution. Ha."
"Ryan is a wonderful counselor who is caring and honest as he assists others in their growth and understanding. Ryan's vast experience covers so many facets which he draws from as he meets people where they are at and provides hope."
"I've known Ryan Espenschied for almost 40 years and he is truly a high character man. He is sincere, caring, and a person of integrity. I'm very thankful for his friendship over the years."
"I started seeing Ryan a little over 20 years ago. I had heard from a friend he was very kind and helpful. And that he had a strong faith in God. That was important to me because I was not only struggling with my dysfunctional marriage and family life. I was also struggling with my relationship with God. Iby lived in a constant state of stress, uunhappiness and confusion. I feared being really open with a therapist. I feared judgment and criticism. I loathed myself and figured God didn't like me much either. I lost the ability to really pray. When I first met him I felt a sense of calmness in his voice and in his manner. He never made things feel rushed or on a clock. He was a good listener. An active listener. I had been using some dysfunctional ways of coping and pushing my reality away. No drugs but I did grow a fondness for wine and being with the wrong people. He didn't condone my behaviors or habits but he didn't judge them either. He layer them out clearly so I could see them clearly myself. He prayed with me and for me when I couldn't pray for myself. I did get better. I learned a lot of things the hard way. But the hour of therapy was very therapeutic and gave me a lot to take with me. When I lost insurance due to having to retire early for serious health issues before I was 65 I had to go it alone. I didn't know if I was ready. I couldn't afford private pay but said I would return with money in hand if I had to. By then I had gotten rid of a few toxic people and my marriage was better. I got treatment for my wino ways and had worked on my relationships that really matted. I I had begun to pray on my own and felt right with God. I still had a journey ahead but without those years of good solid therapy I was able to navigate my way. I could always hear the things he would tell me in my head. Thanks Ryan!"
"Ryan is very insightful into helping diagnose issues and problems. But not only that, he helps come up with rock-solid solutions and ways to move forward successfully. Maybe most importantly, it is obvious that he genuinely cares about people. I greatly appreciate him!"
