Reviews
"Really need historical site only one parking spot but very interesting about the history of Indians at this place."
"A slice of history of the bluffs in Southern Illinois. The rock formation and what the area was used for is very intriguing. We stumbled across this gem while driving to a small town nearby. Although it's very small some of the surrounding homes located by the bluffs were interesting. If you don't know where it is located you will drive right past it."
"Neat landmark. It is just a roadside stop with no parking. It is only remarkable because it was excavated 25 feet down. Nearly any rock overhang in North America would have the same historical merit as a shelter for thousands of years of habitation. I would consider the entire landscape historic to Native Americans, geologically amazing, then add on the French colonial component and we have an awesome area to visit!"
"Very simple. No parking. A few plaques tell the story. A short time to visit is all you need here."
"Probably not a "destination" by itself, but an interesting add-on if visiting Fort de Chartres or even Cahokia."
