"Always love visiting this old house. Be sure to stop by and support it so they can continue to preserve the house!"
"Lovely house, very well restored. The docent was knowledgeable and friendly and took his time providing details about the house, its builders and owners, the house contents, all the historical background, as well as answering all my questions to the best of his ability. An added plus was the second docent - LuLu, the Welsh Corgi. This place is worth the time to visit. I especially liked the "coving"."
"We were excited to attend Bastille day. When we arrived there was no direction or staff to show us what to do. I asked a woman in costume if the house was open. She replied " I'm the wrong person to ask" a man and woman were sitting at a table that looked like a welcome table. She responded " it's not about the house today. Come back another time" if the event was open to the public we certainly weren't welcome. 5 people were ready to spend money, visit the grounds and have a good time but instead we were turned away."
"Among the dozen historic homes in St. Louis, I find this the most charming. Take the docent-lead tour for a marvelous, knowledgable (probably 1-on-1) narration detailing the owners and this curious, wonderful home. The personal belongings and household fixtures provide an exquisite depiction of the well to do including devices such as the fold-out bathtub and silver wineglass cooling bowl. A modest fee is assessed for admission and the tour."
"Very interesting historical home near Anhesher Busch. Guides enhanced experience with background on homeowners and historical pieces in the home. Although one of the guides spoke way too fast and was hard to catch everything."
