"I have used the Tax Place in Lubbock for the last 8 or 9 years and I would have given then 5 stars until this year. Debi is wonderful to work with but I cannot say the same for the rest of her staff. This is the first year that I have ever owed the IRS anything and Denae advised me to file an extension and pay in Oct. She did not mention that I would get to pay interest or I wouldn't have done that in the first place. I followed up in Sept and she forwarded the documents to me. I was traveling for work and honestly just kept putting it off which is on me. She did forward me the documents 2 more times but no mention of a deadline other than the month of Oct. I happen to know the person who has my last company issued phone number and it is a GOOD thing because the day that everything was due at 730pm, the person forwarded me a VM from Belinda saying everything was due that day and they would be there till 9pm. I called them very upset that they didn't call my updated number which I have had for the last 2 years and explained that I could have missed the deadline because they called the wrong number! Belinda claimed she also called the correct one... she did not. Then she transferred me to Denae who repeatedly told me that she DID tell me multiple times when the deadline was. Since everything was in email, she definitely didn't. She told me that EVERYONE knows that day was the deadline. Well, I did not. I was not yelling or cursing but I was upset. She got very heated with me and told me that she was not going to finish my taxes and hung up on me. I called back and Belinda was rude to me and said that they were going to pass on my taxes. I called back and was put immediately on hold. I called back 2 more times and finally told them to let me talk to Debi NOW! Debi got on the phone and was extremely professional and finished my taxes easily. If you can work with Debi, then I would still recommend them, but I will not ever work with someone like Denae or Belinda again since they seem prone to reverting to teenage like behavior when confronted with upset and stressed out client. I am very sad all my years with them went that direction. I should have clarified the deadline, but I had a lot going on and did not. The very least they could have done was apologize for calling the wrong number 1.5 hours before I would have been screwed."

The owner and her staff go many extra steps to not just do our taxes but treat us as part of the family. I can't recommend them enough!!! While walk ins are welcome I also recommend an appointment - their personal touch means you do spend more than 3 minutes with them."
