Reviews of Pioneer Memorial and Exodus to Greatness
"Visiting Nauvoo was a blessing. Seeing all the history and walking around was a head clearer and I left with a different perspective. Recommend checking it out!!"
"It is so beautiful here by the banks of the Mississippi. The memorial can be a little overwhelming to think about, but it is a beautiful tribute."
"Many people sacrificed everything, including their lives, to cross this spot of the Mississippi river. The state (government) ordered an execution on members of a Christian faith (now The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints). This monument pays tribute to those forced to flee in the bitter winter of 1846 and never made it to their new home. This is a powerful place to those who consider the (violent and cold hearted) persecution of people who wanted to worship their God."
"So glad I got to visit this important memorial. Found the names of several of our ancestors. This is the exact spot where, in 1846, members from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints were forced to abandon their beautiful city of Nauvoo, IL and flee into the wilderness."
