About the Historic Nauvoo
Located on Mulholland Street in Nauvoo, Illinois, Historic Nauvoo is a key institution that tells the story of the early Church of Latter-day Saints. The focal point of the city was the Nauvoo Temple, where important ordinances were completed for both the living and the deceased. Visitors to Historic Nauvoo can learn about the city where Joseph Smith received revelations, apostles embarked on missions, and the community came together to support one another. Despite the Saints eventually leaving Nauvoo to settle in Utah, the foundation laid here continues to impact the Church today. Historic Nauvoo serves as a reminder of the faith, service, and devotion of those who settled here, inspiring visitors to strengthen their own faith and share the gospel message of Jesus Christ.

Reviews of Historic Nauvoo
"The tours was informative, fun, and inspiring. Loved the history shared in each area! Wonderful to go back to the 1840's and experience what it was like during this time period. Very family friendly! Carriage, Ox and wagon rides were very enjoyable!"
"Such an amazing experience! Highly highly highly recommend. The storm that blew thru in early July was still being cleaned up and the fact that none of the sites were damaged is a true miracle!"
"This is a great area for tourists, usually members of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints, and the Community of Christ, to come and visit and learn about church history. There are many free activities available all over the historic district but also the Community of Christ offers a lovely tour of several sites, the places where Joseph Smith lived in Nauvoo, for only five dollars. Highly recommend this tour."
"Love this place so much. So much historical info and restorations that have painstakingly and accurately done. Many many volunteers who are so knowledgeable willing to lead you through the sites. Even if you are not of the lds faith it is very interesting. My in-laws who are not lds still enjoyed it. If you are lds (and Maybe if you aren't) you will find it a faith promoting experience. And best of all its completely free!"
"Great tours and explanations of what life was like in the 1830s. The faith the people had was incredible. Big bonus, everything was free. Definitely need at least a couple days to see everything. State park on opposite side of the road is beautiful and has camping"
