Reviews
"I am so glad I read all of these reviews after I just received a phone call from this company. I was originally looking to schedule a G.I. appointment with Texas digestive disease consultants. I placed an inquiry on their website probably two weeks ago. I received a voicemail a couple days ago from GI Alliance About surgery scheduling, I was so confused because I do not have any surgeries to schedule. This morning I received another phone call and answered when I asked more questions about what this company even is the scheduler was confused and rude. He seemed bothered that I even asked him what this company was. I was a previous patient at TDDC in McKinney And was looking to schedule my first visit with the Southlake office. Now that I know that GI Alliance is the management company that I would have to deal with moving forward this is a strong no. They didn’t tell me that they were calling on behalf of TDDC Until I asked three or four more questions confused on why I was receiving this phone call in the first place and why the guy was very pushy. Overall, I feel like this must just be some call-center. It feels like they have a dashboard of calls that they have to clear and that they want to get through them as soon as possible."
"The Plano front desk gi alliance is absolutely trash. I have major complaints that makes this a one star review. The front desk staffing is horrible. They are rude and very disrespectful. I call on the phone and get no valuable information, just an irritated front desk lady on the phone. I am talking about the younger ones. The lady I had my first visit was great. I went to the office today and got this paper from a young employee who didn’t listen to me and acted like she knew everything.I was given this paper and on it, it has a pin I’ve gotta use to make a portal. I wasn’t told about that either. Well, the piece of paper I got for the portal, I can’t even read the pin. They didn’t take the time to check that. Way to go. Now I got to make another trip due to some ***** who thought she knew everything. Look at the paper I got from the front desk."
"I have been a patient within the GI Alliance for a few years now. I was sent to my current physician on the recommendation of one of my other doctors. I do not like the office that I am currently going to. I have never felt comfortable there, I am not able to get into see the physician, only the physician assistant and I do not want to continue seeing her as my gastro doctor. I feel like she is dismissive and does not adequately address my issues. I have been trying for months now to switch physicians and as I am in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, there are very few gastroenterologists that are not in your system and no one will allow me to switch. I have tried 3 or 4 times now with different physicians in different offices in 3 different cities, and all of them tell me they will not take me as a second opinion, including my original physician who has now joined your group and who just perforned a colonoscopy on me 4 years ago. I am now trying to get an appointment with any physician that is outside your group. My medical care is being held hostage because of this. I am being held hostage to this. And am being forced to stay at a physician’s office that I don't feel comfortable at. I have been going to my regular primary doctor for as much care as they can provide. However, when I told them I already had a gastroenterologist in the GI Alliance system and that I did not want to be seen by them anymore, he laughed and his exact words were “you’re screwed”. He said he doubted I would ever be able to switch. This is what other physicians outside of your group are thinking and telling their patients. It isn’t exactly a ringing endorsement. Your group should be ashamed of themselves. I have a right to find a physician that I am comfortable with, who I feel like will give me the best treatment and options and I am not allowed to do this with your group. How dare you tell me what is best for me when none of you have sat in the office with me. You base your decisions using office managers who never speak to the patients, who never ask any questions and who don’t care about a person’s real life consequences that they have to face because of your poor management. I have and will continue to tell everyone what they face if they go to one of your physicians and do not feel comfortable. Your policy puts people's health in danger. And please don't suggest I email your patient complaints or patient experience email addresses either. I already did that, weeks ago and I have not received any response from either. Your company has gone above and beyond to show what truly matters to you and it isn't the welfare of your patients."
"I was at the Mansfield office yesterday and I had to wait because Dr Odunsi was called out on an emergency. While I was waiting for her to come back I witnessed some of the best patient service I have ever seen in a doctors office. Patty at the front desk was incredibly helpful with each patient that came in. Especially when it came to helping people with the tablet information. She is a keeper. She is doing a great job. Please put this letter in her file. Never ending patience."
"Making a new patient appointment with Dr. Carolyn Walker in Denton, Texas has been near-impossible. I've attempted to contact them for weeks and the only option is to leave a voicemail. I left a voicemail (no response), submitted an online appointment request (got one return phone call but I was unavailable and driving when they called - they left a message), left another voicemail (no return phone call). This is worrisome for a first appointment, but also what happens if I do finally get that first appointment and then have to call back for follow-ups, medication questions, etc? Not confidence-inspiring. It's a shame because Dr. Walker is so highly recommended by other local patients (who said she was "a good listener," "good with chronic disease," "good advocate," "honest," and "doesn't rush to prescribe medication"). (Hence the two-star rating, vs one-star for the communication issues.) I was willing to play phone tag to get that first appointment with a doctor so highly recommended, but after an unsuccessful few weeks, I gave up and contacted a different office/doctor. That (not-GI-Alliance) office called me 15 minutes after I requested an appointment online, confirmed all my insurance information, provided the online portal login info, and was able make my appointment within the next seven days. GI Alliance's Facebook page reviews show that communication is definitely an ongoing issue for these offices. Unfortunate, especially knowing that some of the doctors are so well-liked. I hope they can get this issue figured out."
