"We stayed in Bald Eagle Campground. Really nice, and lots of new full concrete pads with plenty of space between lots! There aren't many full size trees, but they've been planted. Expect good shade in a few years. Full hookups were super affordable. The people at the ranger station were very nice. They have a huge, gorgeous, rental hall. On the down side, It was raining this weekend and there was not very good drainage. The water stood at least a couple of inches on the pad in front of our camper door and out to our vehicle. I noticed most spots had water standing somewhere, around fire rings, or anywhere there were low spots. The hall was amazing, big enough for just about any kind of event you can imagine. But there is no kitchen or water. You have to go 50 yards next door for restrooms. All in all, we enjoyed our stay."
"Update. Be careful riding a bike in thos place officer Ricketts seems to have a problem with people and cut me off today turning left right in front of me. He slowed down at first and then gunned it and cut the corner all the way to the other lane to not hit me....... Love to ride through on my bike or scooter and enjoy some quiet and nature. If you have a mountain bike they have some awesome trails just like the stuff you see in YouTube with the wooden challenges and obstacles and banked turns. Be sure to check out the boardwalk!"
"This visit was about checking the park out for future camping site. Wow is all I can say. One of the nicest parks I've been too but then my world is pretty small lol. Update.................. Finally made it back for camping. Spent 4 days and enjoyed what this park had to offer. We had some excitement on the second evening. Tornado touched down just North of the park. 80 mph gusts in the park. Not only is this one of the nicest state parks I've been too, the bad weather showed me the staff in action. I've been camping during bad weather before, but the staff at this park knocked my socks off with their quick reactions and professionalism. They went above and beyond to get us safe and keep us in loop as to what was going on, hats off to staff! I can't say enough good about this park. 1000+ acres of park, multiple campgrounds ranging from full hookup sites to full on primitive. Fish were even biting :). Large swimming pool with water slides. Don't pass this place up if looking for a nice park to spend the weekend in. For the bird watchers, this park is the nesting area of the rare Led Zep Ramble On. I could ramble on some more but I think you get the point."
"Great area with lots of playgrounds for kids. Tons of hiking, biking & horse trails. Bathrooms & all other buildings are very clean & well maintained. Make sure you enter the south entrance, not only to check in but all the signs for each campground faces that direction. Camp sites are paved & very nice in the Bald Eagle & Woodside campgrounds. Definitely ready to stay here again."
"For a newer campground it has its positives and negatives. Positive - concrete and asphalt pads make for easy leveling and a clean trailer, the full hook ups including sewer are a plus. This makes your honey happy when they can take long showers. The campground host was an extremely nice gentleman and they seem to take very good care of the grounds. But my most favorite thing was that by 9 every night all lights and stereos and noise were turned off allowing people to enjoy a quiet evening. Negative - the only thing - we have about the whole place would be the lack of trees and close proximity to other campsites. But you give up amenities sometimes for seclusion. All-in-all great little camp ground and we really enjoyed our time there. And they've got good mountain bike trails for riding."
