Reviews of Women's Care Group
"I never write reviews but I often find them useful to go through when I myself am searching for a good doctor’s office, therefore my experience at Women’s Care Group has led me to writing this one, because I honestly feel going there is a waste of time. I had made an appointment in October because I was experiencing UTI symptoms. The doctor ordered a test for me and I got a call a week later saying everything came back normal and I was negative for UTI, along with all of the other tests the doctor ordered. A week later I was still feeling symptoms of a UTI, and now had a 101 fever (although I’ve never had a UTI so I wasn’t sure), so I called again to make another appointment. This call is when I was told that my UTI results actually were indeed positive, and the doctor was going to order me a prescription to treat it. After finishing the prescription I still wasn’t feeling normal, so I ended up setting up more appointments, so I went back two separate times total. Both visits I received negative test results but was prescribed medication for a yeast infection “just in case”. It was now January and things were just still not right, so I called again and asked to speak to a nurse because I wanted to schedule an ultrasound for my next appointment. I was tired of all of my test results coming back negative and getting no answers for about four months, all while being billed over $600 for tests I was taking (repeated tests), that didn’t even align with the symptoms I was then having. The nurse on the phone was so rude and dismissive, I tried explaining to her why I wanted an ultrasound, that I had been in pain for months and I’ve been trying to get to the bottom of whatever was wrong with me asap, because it was really affecting my day to day life. She told me that I would have to come in and be examined again in order for the Doctor to order an ultrasound and that if I didn’t like that I could find a different place. I understand policy is policy, I work in customer service, I know things have to be done a certain way, but it was the lack of regard for my situation that upset me. And the way in which she told me I could find a different place stunned me, she said it with annoyance as if I knew nothing about what I was saying. I was frustrated but I just remained calm, I called the front desk back and asked for them to please leave a note for my Doctor to give me a call, because she wasn’t in the office that day. We’re now two weeks + into February and I just today received a call from the Doctor, over a month later with no acknowledgment of how long I had been waiting. I didn’t bother answering because its obviously too late now. I thought it was pretty comical to be receiving a call over a month later when I was expressing great concern. Instead I went to Dr. Doah in Orland Park weeks ago, got an ultrasound with no hesitation and I have real answers after only seeing him one time. I highly recommend checking his practice out. Women’s Care Group is very disorganized and neglectful in my opinion."
"So, as a father to be, I went with my wife as she was having some problems and ended up with miscarriage, the so called doctor kept blabbing and I had to actually stop her from talking and started to ask direct questions to get direct answers, I really had to take control of the conversation as I was worried as hell and she was as confusing as a person could be, when I started asking questions first about the health status of my wife and the baby we lost eventually, I started to get a clear picture of what the scenarios are. Of course by the end I felt my blood pressure was so high and I was about to explode. Couldn't wait to leave and never came back again. The incompetence is unbelievable across the board, doctors and receptionist. You have to make sure yourself of every thing they do as they are extremely incompetent. So, if you want to see a doctor that's supposed to help and guide you through this experience don't even think about coming here."
"This is where happy and exiting experiences comes to turn into a nightmare, not only by condescending arrogant doctors but also by incompetent staff, I was a patient with Women’s Care Group for the months of July and August 2023 until Nov. The horrible experience I had at this office that I was trying to get past and not leave a review about. My pregnancy ended in a miscarriage, and when I called the office to tell them the problem I have they told me its nothing to be too concerned about and to only call back if it got worse. on Monday morning I call to tell them its worse from the night before, and to give me a time to come in to see a doctor, they told me to go to the emergency room because they couldn’t fit me in that day, when really it was because I already had an appointment by chance for the next afternoon Tuesday and they did not want to be inconvenienced. What am I coming to your office for if I cannot even be seen for such a matter? my pregnancy ended with miscarriage, but the nightmare continues, I am sent a bill from them for over a thousand dollars because they are apparently not covered by my insurance. This is despite being told in July they accept my insurance, and being charged 30 dollar copays at each of my visits to them, the insurance company confirmed that this was a mistake on the part of the doctors office. Apparently UHC medicaid plan is accepted by this doctor but not UHC hmo which is what I have. So the nurse despite having my insurance card in her hand checked the wrong type of insurance, and proceeded to tell me I am covered. I was given a paper mentioning that I am covered but of-course they always have a disclaimer that this paper and the information in it might change!! so why do you give me this piece of meaningless paper?? I am now stuck with this huge bill, whereas if I had been given the proper information from the very beginning, I could have found another doctor right away. This level of incompetence is not only inexcusable but very damaging to your patients. I am beyond frustrated at the position this office has put me in. I never saw any of this coming when I decided to trust these doctors with my pregnancy. Now I am pregnant, I would rather have my baby delivered in the jungle than having to deal with them again."
"Each doctor was very approachable during visits. Quick waiting room time and normal call backs for test results. Visits were quick- in and out within an hour most times. Something to note for prenatal care: there are a lot of doctors in this practice, so you will meet each one every month. However each one was friendly so this was not a problem."
"I am not a fan of the Oak Lawn location. 100% go to Orland Park where they won’t have you wait 45 minutes past your appointment time! All the doctors are great, the ultrasound techs I’ve had are great as well. However, I was very wrongly charged a $50 no show fee. I called the office the night before at about 8-9pm, assuming it would just let me leave a message to cancel. To my surprise, someone answers and I explain that I need to cancel. They said no problem at all. Between me cancelling and my appointment the next day, there was NO communication. The employee I cancelled with didn’t tell anyone, didn’t write a note, nothing & I was forced to pay the $50 after fighting it nonstop. Not only that but I’m 3 months pregnant. The Oak Lawn location told me at my first ultrasound & I quote, “We are taking your blood today to send to the lab, you will be told the gender of your baby at your next visit”. So I plan my gender reveal for 3 days after that appointment. Only to find out at the appointment that I now have to wait 10 more days to find out and have to reschedule a party I’ve already planned. Orland told me that Oak Lawn “misinformed” me. Like alright… save yourself & go to the Orland location, SO much quicker & more thorough."
