"This is a must if you are visiting Chicago for the first time. The tool is 90 minutes long so if you are visiting during the fall/winter months, please ensure that you dress appropriately as being on the river can be quite cold. Our narrator was comical, yet informative about the iconic structures of the windy city. If you take this to be prepared for a knowledgeable session that not only will keep you in the know, but provide an educational background of how and why the “WINDY” city has become such a great tourist attraction. 10/10"
"My favorite activity in Chicago is the Architectural Cruise. The city tells a beautiful story through its exterior and as someone who moved here not long ago, that story is a story of diversity, kindness, tenacity, appreciation for the arts, and a shared value of pride for this great city! Seeing the city from the river is an experience you’ll never forget and I believe the First Lady does this very well! Having been on a few different architectural cruises I’ve been on this one twice now and this last one was excellent! The tour guide was so engaged and enthusiastic that it made it very enjoyable!"
"Excellent informational tour about the history and architecture of downtown Chicago. 90 minutes with drinks offered. Inside or outside seating available. Was cold when we took the tour would recommend warmer weather but the heated area below helped. One recommended change was the speakers are very loud for the tour guide inside or outside. Too loud and it is constant talking for the full 90 minutes. Maybe earplugs could dampen the sound. Overall very enjoyable though and a must see for downtown Chicago."
"This was our first river boat tour in Chicago. After reading reviews, we opted for Chicago's First Lady and were so happy with the tour. Our tour guide was very informative, and the views from the boat were amazing. Learning about the architectural history of the buildings of downtown Chicago was so interesting. It was a bit chilly down some of the channels, but it was a good trade-off since it was less busy on the boat. Highly recommend!"
"We had a phenomenal architecture tour with Jim! He is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about Chicago’s history and its buildings and I feel very fortunate to have had him as our guide. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Chicago for the first time - you will learn a lot about the city and discover newfound appreciation for those where you live. Boarding was swift and we sat outside for the entirety of the trip."
