"I posted a review several days ago, gave max comfort 1star.I don’t see it."
"Last year (2022), I had a brand new, 5-ton, Rheem unit installed including everything in the attic, evaporator coil, air handler, etc. Daniel Romo, the tech who sold me the system was very nice. After it was installed, the system was not functioning properly. The power draw was making our lights flicker like we were living on the train tracks, it did not cool the house either. The install manager, Oscar, came out and they decided they had to reinstall everything brand new. New condenser and new evaporator coil. Obviously, this took twice as long, but things happen, no big deal. In February or March, I asked Daniel if he could help relocated my air return because I was remodeling. He agreed but during the work, he fell through my ceiling, but things happen, no big deal. He took some money off the price and I had my remodeler fix it. In the beginning of July, water starts leaking through my ceiling in my upstairs bedroom. I run up into the attic thinking my drain is clogged but the pan is dry. So, I think it’s a leaky pipe in my house. I decided to check again the next day and find that the water is leaking out of an opening in the primary drain line and it has no way to back up into the secondary drain. I blow out the line myself to stop the leak because no one at Max Comfort could come out until Tuesday (2 days later). No big deal, I stopped the leak. I also told anyone who would listen that my brand new 5-ton AC unit for my 3,000 square ft house was having trouble keeping up and that it runs nearly 24 hours a day. I was told, “that happens, it’s just really hot right now.” The tech, Raul, I believe is his name, goes into the attic and finds a cap that was never removed from the primary drain line, preventing the water from backing up into the secondary drain and caused the leak onto my ceiling – an install failure. He also finds that my plenum was leaking, this was the new plenum that was just built four months earlier by Daniel Romo when he moved my air return and fell through the ceiling. I was pulling attic air into my unit. No wonder the brand new unit was having trouble keeping up. Two weeks later and after multiple phone calls with no calls back, Sandra, finally tells me someone is coming out to fix the water damage on the ceiling and the plenum. A contractor contacted me very shortly after I hung up, which leads me to believe that no one at Max Comfort even said anything about fixing my ceiling in the first place. After the ceiling was fixed, Raul, finally comes back out 5 days later. He fixes that plenum with his assistant and he’s wrapping up. Then, boom, he breaks through my ceiling again. The area right where the contractor just fixed. He just kind of smiled and said someone would fix it, maybe it was the language barrier. Not really an apology or anything. I cleaned up a lot of the mess while they were there. I finally ask them to check the air flow before they leave because when just the downstairs thermostat is running, air is blowing hard upstairs and that just doesn’t make sense. The airflow is wrong. So, he does and goes back into the attic and finds that I’m missing a dampener that directs the airflow. He says I’m supposed to have 2 but I only have 1. Another install failure that is causing issues with cooling the downstairs. Again, no wonder it’s having trouble keeping up. I was told by Raul that someone would come out this week (July 31- August 4) to add the dampener and that it was an easy job. It’s Friday afternoon and I’ve not heard from anyone. I even spoke to Sandra yesterday and she promised to call me back today. Nothing. I called her and texted her too. My air conditioner has been running for weeks. I’m not even worried how much this has cost me on my electric bill. I just want to know when someone is coming. To summarize, Install errors: 4 (Condenser fried, Evaporator coil replaced, cap on drain line, missing dampener), Ceiling breaks: 2, Calls back: 0. Please add the dampener to correct the air flow so I can be done with this."
"It has taken me almost a year to get my shell buildout finished. It’s my first endeavor into a buildout of a shell building and I never would have expected it to take so long. The delays have been pretty equally divided between A) Missouri City, TX and their “inefficiencies”. And B) Our GC which has been one of the slowest companies I’ve ever dealt with. We threw the GC a few curve balls because I wanted to go with Max Comfort directly and we had to get some other work done by the landlord. Still, it’s not an excuse because the GC should have built out my space in a month or 2. I’ve dealt with 5 or 6 contractors throughout this project (one of which I just won a small claims suit for running away with my down payment). To be honest, Max Comfort was hands down the best contractor out of all of them. I really wish I could find the equivalent of a GC. Carlo has been a friend for about 5 years now and they installed an A/C unit in my home’s garage in 2020. That one was a little tricky because we needed to size the A/C to be able to deal with the door opening and closing frequently for the home business. But they got it perfect and I’ve never had an issue with it. The home was new and they installed the A/C in one day. On this recent project, I didn’t shop around for the A/C because I really didn’t want to have any issues this time around after everything went perfect at the house. I don’t know if Max Comfort was the cheapest because I didn’t check. But I know their parts and install are good quality. I have no brand preference for the actual A/C units. Both projects I paid with a check but they told me they have financing also. Both projects needed about the same size unit and they were around $12,000 each. They installed the indoor and outdoor units in about a day and they have been very responsive. They have good communication and I appreciate their attention to detail. They also brought their own scaffolding which saved me about $2,000 – the GC made me rent a scissor lift for his part of the project. Then after the ceiling was installed they came almost immediately to run the ducts to the ceiling. I want to stress the fact that I have never had to wait on this company for anything, which sounds silly, but I have had to wait so many days for all my other contractors. And I’ve literally had to nag all the other ones daily. This company took care of the permits and the necessary paperwork to get their part done quickly and never had never had an issue. Contrast to my GC who complains every month about some kind of permit problem that he can’t figure out. I hope this review is helpful - I would totally recommend them to anyone!"
"We were desperate to have someone come look at our AC, it was hot, we had visitors and the air inside a room was hot too. They sent their technician the very next day and he fixed it right on the spot. I would definitely hire them again! Thanks!"
