H&R Block

"Probably the worst experience I had filing taxes over the years. I had sent my documents prior to the appointment, and I had resided in two states past year - Oregon and Texas. I was helped by Mrs. Nichola, who was a very courteous lady, but I ended up wasting two hours of my precious time and walking out of the office with nothing. Upon going over all my documents and making me fill everything, I was told that the tax professionals in that office are not qualified to file Oregon tax. I do not blame them for this, but they could have told me this prior to my appointment or simply when I walked into the office. The only reason I come to H&R is because I can file my taxes Face to Face, but if I want to file it online, might as well do it myself. Sorry to say, but I was misguided and it was especially annoying because I had the exact same experience at a different H&R block office a day prior. I am now wondering if the tax “experts” in Houston are incompetent to handle complex tax situations ( mine wasn’t even that complex). Bottom line is that Nichola was very courteous but not very helpful, and only go here if you think your tax situation is easy or you have ample time on your hands to kill."

"Hands down the best H&R Block location. My wife and I needed a TIN number for taxes. The earliest appointment with the local IRS office was 5 months out. There was a lady at this H&R block location that was a certified rep for the IRS who was allowed to take our documents and send them to the IRS without us having to surrender official documents for several months before hopefully receiving them back. The service was a little lengthy based on our specific situation but in the end our tax lady got everything filed and we got a nice refund. It also gave me peace if mind knowing that a professional took care of us instead of guessing."

"Peggy was absolutely wonderful. Really great knowledge and double checked everything. The female manager with the super long last name was exceptional as well. We've had our share of issues with others at H&RBLOCK but Ms. Peggy restored the faith."
