A few years ago I was gobsmacked by a breast cancer diagnosis and was advised I also needed a well-woman checkup ASAP. Balanced Care got me in immediately and even were able to reassure me about the surgeon to whom I was sent as he was their #1 recommendation. At another visit Dr. Kodner had to leave for an emergency pregnancy going in to labor but she took a moment to pop in and apologize and the staff thoughtfully shuffled things a bit so I could still be seen that day. "I went to this practice years ago. I had a fairly good experience with Dr. Senciboy, but the nurse practitioner was really rude and dismissive. She is the one I usually saw. I told her about my heavy periods and pain/infertility; she said "no, that is normal. You don't have any issues." I KNOW my body, and I'm very knowledgeable. I was also told by Dr. Senciboy to see a fertility specialist instead. Well shortly after this, I lost my health insurance and couldn't get my issue checked. Later, I ended up getting an ultrasound somewhere else and found the problem related to the hormonal issues I've had. I hope your team reads this and realize why it's hard to trust the medical community anymore. Not a lot of patients want to find the root cause of their issues because it's usually not a quick fix. I am different, and was truly upset that I was gaslighted about my concerns because I could've figured out my health issues a long time ago."
