H&R Block

"If I could give zero stars I would. I decided to give H&R block another chance after an incident years ago because a friend needed tax help. After we took off from work multiple times and our appointments kept getting moved to other locations, dates and times without even talking to us about it. I was able to talk to someone that assured us that our appointment at the El Dorado location would not be canceled so we made arrangements AGAIN to take off work. I arrived first and after talking to John and Annette about my friends situation, Annette went and made a call to a coworker on speaker phone and she proceeded to tell this person we did not want to pay for services when all I did was ask for the price and then the gentleman (if you call him that) told her he didn't want to deal with us if she was not able to take care of us that day. I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN H&R BLOCK AGAIN AND I WILL TELL PEOPLE NOT TO USE THEIR SERVICES!"

Our taxes this year are more complicated than last year, and we were transferred to Trina Crenshaw, who took us under her wing and walked us through the many different steps we needed to take. She was so helpful and we were very happy with her and the service she provided! Thank you!"

"Did not appreciate being made to feel ignorant and stupid for not having studied accounting and not knowing about certain tax codes and laws. Ken was pompous and arrogant as he bragged about his knowledge about tax laws and essentially blamed me and made me feel stupid for not knowing them even after I told him what I studied and that my high school didn't offer accounting classes. He made fun of me when I wouldn't understand things and resorted to speaking to me as if I were a child when I was having trouble understanding something instead of trying to see what I was having trouble grasping and addressing it in a respectful manner. He even made an annoyed "are you kidding me" face at me and sat back in his chair in irritation when he saw that I was having trouble understanding what he was saying at one point. I sincerely think that he thinks I am stupid and I am angry about my experience. I left feeling very embarrassed and belittled. I had to take in and try to make sense of a lot of information in a short span of time and he did not make it easy for me, he made it seem like it should be so obvious and that I was a moron for not comprehending what he was talking about. Never have I been so degraded by a "professional" before. He did not even listen when I provided key information at the beginning, did not follow through when he said he'd ask for any missing information (he waited until I went back to see him 5 days later to tell me I was missing certain papers even though he had my phone # and email address and had the nerve to say "we are still waiting on this information"), he had poor listening skills, and he kept on pronouncing my name wrong. I will never go back and do not recommend this office at all. For the pretty penny I paid for these services, I expected to have been treated MUCH better."
